How do you maintain bleached hair?

First of all, my hair right now is unnatural red. It's almost burgundy... but I really want to bleach it. I know it's really damaging, but I'm sure there's a way to help that, right?

Can anyone recommend a bleaching kit, a really good conditioner/treatment, and a shampoo for mainting the color and moisturizing it?

Thank you all in advance!

I just went to their launch party and had my hair done, free as a demo. Its amazing, my hair was breaking off and flying away. I will always always buy this stuff. Its awesome, I saw a difference as soon as she rinsed my hair. I have no damage anymore, its unbelievable! No more split-ends, its like my hair is NEW! I love it!

How do you maintain bleached hair?

well if youre starting with an unnatural red then you are probably going to end up in some area of very unnatural ugly orange, and then have to do it again, thus ending up with severly damaged hair, and by the way once it is damaged the only thing that will make it better is cutting the damaged bits off............good luck, go to see a pro

Well, I've never tried to bleach my hair before... so I recommend going to a salon or hairstyling place so you can ask them what to use!!! They know their stuff! And there are plenty of beauty stores that sell that kind of stuff. [Like Sally's]

I can tell you for sure tho, that you're going to want moisturizing/reconstructing shampoo and conditioner.

Pretty much every line of hair care products sell them.

Everyone has different results with hair products, so you might have to try a few different things. However, I can tell you from my experience that Thermasilk works really good, and so does Pantene.

You might even want to buy a leave in moisturizing treatment...

Aussie makes some good spray on stuff, and it's cheap too=]

Oh, and it smells AMAZING.

Good luck with your hairs!%26lt;3 lol

If you are able to follow directions and are careful, bleaching your own hair isn't as scary as it sounds and will be fine. Be aware though that bleach reacts to heat, so that's why you don't apply it any more than an inch by your roots because the heat from your head will it blonder than the rest if you do. If you want to bleach it yourself, Sally Beauty has some kits and also the salespeople will explain to you how to use it. But if you are even the slightest bit hesitant with doing it yourself, don't fight that feeling and get it done at a salon that specializes in color correction. Good luck to you :)
