Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

I always see little Indian girls with short hair. Sometimes I mistake them for little boys. Then I see older Indian girls and women with beautiful hair down to their knees or feet. What is this Indian custom, its name, origin, traditions? Is it religious or having something to do with the caste system or women's treatment? Wikipedia had nothing on it...(surprisingly! lol!)

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

manageability, simple as that.

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

Its a custom that each Asian does after there hair grows.I didnt help much but I know a little about that.

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

Maybe they are parents who just don't like to be bothered having to try to untangle long hair. Have you done that with a screaming child? It is awful. They are probably smarter than we vain whites and let the girls wait until they are old enough to take care of their OWN hair, huh? I doubt it is cultural...

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

Some cultures rip the hair out by the root as some right of passage. Very painful..not sure why exactly. Saw an article on it not long ago..terrible.

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

I have no idea, I'm just making a random guess:

Maybe it's because they believe that it will help make the girls' hair stronger, or better looking, or something like that as it grows... because I've known people who had done that to their daughters for this reason, it's just that they were not Indians.

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

It's for that reason specifically, because when you are little, little kids are messy and stuff, and when they are older, they let it grow, to make it nice.

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

maybe its some kind of Taboo

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

think it's because it's easier to manage and for differant poojas (prayer rituals) where they put puspu (a lentil thing) on their hair and stuff

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

i really have no idea i tried looking it up but there was nothing sorry

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

I think it is because over there the women are lower then a dog. They are treated so bad. By cutting the hair they look like little boys, with that done the little girls will be left alone. Like I said This is what I think not that its the reason.

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

Its simple really.Grown up women look after their own hair(no matter how long it is.Where as kids need their moms to look after their hair(if its long).

But where do you live?I live in India and here, most girls have hair a few inches below their shoulders.

Why do Indian (not Native American) parents cut their little girl's hair short?

many hindus cut their daughters hair short but the sikh people do not believe in cutting their hair so their hair is always long. You're probably comparing two different cultures from different regions

I want to know some good hairfall treatment &for inc the grow th of hairs?

i am 19 yrs old

I want to know some good hairfall treatment %26amp;for inc the grow th of hairs?

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin

Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to see results.

I want to know some good hairfall treatment %26amp;for inc the grow th of hairs?

U should try DOO Grow (It's spelled with 2 O's). I had a ring worm in my head (long story) and after it was cured i tried out some Doo Grow and it made all my hair grow back pretty fast.

I want to know some good hairfall treatment %26amp;for inc the grow th of hairs?

If you are only 19 yrs old, you are too young to start loosing your hair - you need to see your doctor ASAP! If he brushes you off, get an appointment to see a dermatologist. To supplement whatever they tell you, I highly recommend the Nioxin product line.

I want to know some good hairfall treatment %26amp;for inc the grow th of hairs?

If you can get coconut oil with bramhi or almonds is good and while washing the hair with fenugreek seeds it is good to apply the paste for 30 -40 minutes on the scalp and wash it off. A diet rich in protein will also help the hair to grow strong and healthy. Minerals are also important for lustrous hair. Alfalfa juice in combination with spinach or coriander if taken daily will help the hair to grow fast.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of my frizzy hair?

I've tried several shampoos %26amp;%26amp; conditioners %26amp;%26amp; mousses %26amp;%26amp; gels, it helps but I hate that the gel gives me white stuff on my head %26amp;%26amp; i also get dandruff for all the products I use.

I have natural curly hair, is there anything that can keep the curls but take away the frizz? Like a treatment or something similar to a relaxer but for frizz?

Is there anything I can do to get rid of my frizzy hair?

Real Hair Solutions for Frizzy Hair

Is there anything I can do to get rid of my frizzy hair?

John Freda has amazing frizz contol products. The serum works magic, you should try it!

Is there anything I can do to get rid of my frizzy hair?

use a straightener or buy one there usally $15.00 to $20.00

Is there anything I can do to get rid of my frizzy hair?

Dont shampoo your hair every showering, but conditioner it regualary. shampoo it about 3 times a week or so, shampoo takes the natural oils out of your hair, causing more frizz, also, brush your hair out while its wet and put some kinda curl inhancing gel in it ( i use TreSemme Bouncy Curls, its makes your hair have cute curls without all the frizz)

Is there anything I can do to get rid of my frizzy hair?

Wash your hair, and make sure to use a conditioner but do not rinse the conditioner out completely. I have found that Matrix Sleek Look works best. Also, when shampooing with conditioners, it leaves hair looking opaque rather than shiny so oils are needed to give shine. Remember, hair is dead and conditioners will not stay in the hair, in fact conditioners dissipate after 2 to 3 hours. The key is to lock them into the hair and Moisture Block is the only product for hair that accomplishes that goal.

2. Apply Moisture Block. To learn more about the first waterproof product for hair visit our website at ... [1]sabinohair.com. Start with about a quarter size on towel dried hair patting it on the ends, scrunching the balance throughout the hair and swiping extra where your hair frizzes most. Moisture Block is the only product that locks in the essential moisture 10 to 11%, while blocking out excess moisture. Do not add any other products if you plan on flat ironing your hair. If you desire to wear your hair naturally curly there are two methods that work great ...first add your favorite gel over Moisture Block ...

A) FOR BIG SEXY CURLS - Brush both products through the hair for even distribution. Brushing your hair when wet is best because your hair is at it's strongest point (300% stronger). Twist large sections to the ends, throughout your hair. The bigger the sections, the bigger the curl. Allow your hair to dry naturally or use a bowl shaped diffuser and gather the ends up to the scalp. When hair is completely dry, add Moisture Block to your palms and untwist each section glossing the sections with Moisture Block for extra protection.

B) IF YOU CHOSE NOT TO TWIST YOUR HAIR ... Apply Moisture Block and gel the same way but do not twist sections. Instead, use a micro fiber towel and starting at the ends, press the hair up to the scalp to form softer curls and either diffuse or dry naturally. Again add Moisture Block with your fingers when the hair is completely dryto add sheen and extra protection.

C) If you flat iron your hair just add Moisture Block and no other products. Messy dry your hair with a blower just using you fingers. When hair is completely dry flat iron each section as follows. 1) Make sure that the flat iron is turned up as high as possible. Using a flat iron that reaches 400 degrees or more is best. Moisture Block blocks the excess heat from damaging your hair. 2) Hold the iron at the roots for a count of 3 and pull the iron through to the ends for a count of 8. The reason for going slowly with the iron is to penetrate Moisture Block deeper into the hair shaft giving you more protection from the varied climates. When finished flat ironing, gloss your hair with a little more Moisture Block.

Your hair will hold up to any climate, rain, wind, humidity, dry climates heat, cold weather until the next shampoo. Toss your other products and make some room in your bathroom. All you need is shampoo, conditioner. Moisture Block and gel.

Deep heat conditioning treatments are a rip especially when you pay for the service at a salon. Conditioners only go so deep into the hair shaft and hair CAN NOT be repaired if damaged but only made to feel better.

Oils make hair greasy and gives the hair a phony looking shine and offer nothing as a fixative. Natural products are great for protecting the environment but your hair could care less ... remember ... IT'S DEAD!!

How do I check credentials for a laser hair removal place?

How do I make sure the place I閳ユ獡 going to get my laser hair removal done at actually knows what their doing? Is there a way to check the company閳ユ獨 credentials? This place does other stuff like permanent makeup, botox, and peels. For one treatment on the underarms its $75. Does this sound right or fishy? Also is there any risk of permanent skin discoloration in the area you have lasered? What about scaring? And if it does scar, how big?

Hair Query...........If hair gets off from the root will it grow again...?

I am a teenager and the amont of hair i on my head is getting lesser...do you of any treatments that will help...i am getting scared day by day....and i also want to know is it that my worries are unnecessary..is it that hair that slost will come back?

Hair Query...........If hair gets off from the root will it grow again...?

Don't worry, stress is #1 reason for hair loss. But your hair does go through "shedding seasons". You are suppose to lose 100 hairs a day, but they do replenish themselves. If you are too worried, talk to your parents and see if they need to have your thyroid checked. But hair is definately not something to stress so much over. Take care!

Yes you are young enough that the hair you are losing will replinish itself.

Hair Query...........If hair gets off from the root will it grow again...?

Well its said that the average person looses anywhere from 100-200 peices of hair per day.. With longer hair its even more and with age it also has an effect.. I dont know how much hair your loosing but consult a doctor because it could be hormonal

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

My hair is naturaly dark brown , and I dye it a medium brown. I havent dyed it for about 2 months and it is very grey, I will be adding "Grey Magic" to the haircolor but what should I wash it it a few days before, I heard washing your hair with baking soda, or with medicine peroxide, or should I do something like a hot oil treatment?

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

Its best to use a balanced shampoo before coloring read blog on hairbyus.spruz%26lt;dot%26gt;com on dyeing hair %26amp; washing.

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

herbal essence

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

nope

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

I wash mine about a day and a half before I dye it with my regular routine but you may want to deep condition it if you are worried.

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

There is no need to wash your hair with anything other than your normal shampoo. Just shampoo a few days before you color and it should be good to go.

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

DONT WASH IT B4 U DIE IT!!!

the die will only stick to dirty hair...

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

A good Moisturizing shampoo and more importantly a good moisturing conditioning treatment is a great idea before doing any chemical service.

Make sure you use a professional product....and stay away from the grocery store cheap stuff. It will ruin your hair.

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

no hot oil it may cause color not to take...no baking soda

sounds harsh use a daily shampoo after a week then

go ahead with hot oil treatment

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

at the salon when you would get your hair colored they usually put a pro-oxide (developer) in your hair so the cuticle in your hair can open up more and take the color better and good for those stubborn grey's

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

Wash a day before you dye your hair, then use a hot oil treatment the day of or soon after so you can put moisture back in your hair. Light brown nice, Im going dark blonde soon.

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

ok, you dont want to wash ur hair with peroxide unless you intend it to be white or blonde depending on how long its left in.

But if u ever dye ur hair u can use almost any shampoo but no conditioner. and the shampoo has 2 b pH balanced so not too acidic and not too alkaline.

(so u know conditioner messes with the dye. Especially if its an 'outrageous' colour like mine which is eletric lizard green or my future sister in law's hair colour previosuly which was bubblegum pink.)

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

Go to either a salon or beauty supply store, and ask for a clarifying shampoo for your hair type. This will alomost "strip" your hair of any oils, chemical build-up, or residues. It's gonna make it so squeeky clean, you'll need to use a light conditioner with it. Do not use conditioner prior to product application! Good Luck!

What should I shampoo my hair with before I color it?

the post aboe me is the only person who got it right, use a clarifying shampoo. You know why shampoos and conditioners leave your smelling soooo good? Because they all leave residue on your hair. Each strand is caoted with shampoo/conditioner, which is what makes it soft, smooth, shiny, and smell good. But that layer of residue acts as a barrier between the dye and your hair. A clarifying shampoo does exactly that, it clarifyies. Meaning, it strips all the residue off your hair, so that your hair is actually clean. So then the dye can work properly.

Is electrolysis better than laser hair removal? What is the difference?

I have excessive facial hair (am a woman!) and want to effectively remove it (permanently). What is the best way to do this and most cost effective. I went for one treatment of electrolysis and it's pretty painful and takes sooooo long. I just want to be sure I am doing the best thing. Thanks!

Is electrolysis better than laser hair removal? What is the difference?

Electrolysis is more permanent , laser hair removal depends on your skin and hair color

Is electrolysis better than laser hair removal? What is the difference?

Umm it depends, how much facial hair do you have? Electrolysis is VERY painful, and takes mainy appointments, it also very expensive but it TOTALLY gets ride of hair.. but with laser hair removal, your hair may grow back.. Im taking it your a woman of colour? Perhaps South Asian? or black? I would recommend electrolysis to totally get rid of hair. Bc its sure to grow back if your a woman of colour.

Skin problem causing me to lose hair! Please HELP!?

Recently I've started breaking out on the back of my scalp. Near where a normal balding spot would be. My family has no history of balding so I know it has no relation to that. I'm getting an acne-type of breakout, but the blemishes, or zits, or whatever they are hurt a great deal when touched.

Also, these blemishes cause my hair to fall out where they appear. This has just begun in recent weeks and I seek your help before consulting a doctor; incase this has happened to anyone else and knows what treatment to use.

Please help! This is a major hit to my "game" as any girl is automatically turned off when she see's a cute guy with some wild disease on his hair losing scalp.

Skin problem causing me to lose hair! Please HELP!?

First stop using the shampoo you use. Many shampoos and other products contain harsh harmful ingredients and medicated shampoos are even worse. Also washing hair too frequently removes beneficial natural oils and harms scalp and also is a cause of problem and of loss. I found this NATURAL, safe, low cost treatment that gives remarkable results - it will heal scalp and stop the loss almost straight away. Scalp needs stimulation to clear blocked hair ducts, remove dead follicles so it can again start producing strong, well anchored hair. Massage with natural oils, olive oil is excellent, and then brush vigorously (best with a short bristled palm held brush) so you feel it stimulating scalp (35 /45 strokes or more) preferably each day. A little shedding and some breakage might occur but only to begin with - quickly stops as hair again gets anchored and stronger. It will also force new growth overtime (expect to see in about 2 months) My bald patch on the crown has completely regrown. Do at night and sleep with it that way and wash off in the morning (because of treatment - washing daily will not be detrimental). Do a web searches "Shampoos harmful?" MANY contain sodium laurel sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate and propylene glycol, all of which are harmful. First two are dangerous and both damage hair follicles and cause hair loss. They also harm eyes.- the eye stinging you get is telling you that. Fetuses subjected to these substances do not develop functioning eyes, and both can cause cataracts in adults. Propylene glycol is a known skin irritant and is thought to cause mouth ulcers. It also damages the kidneys and liver. Do a web search for safe, non harming products for hair and skin. Doctors mightl tell you to use topical medicines but this natural treatment will be a permanent cure.

Skin problem causing me to lose hair! Please HELP!?

Sounds like scalp fungus .... a form of ring worm .... You need to see a doctor ... YOU CANNOT CURE THIS AT HOME OR WITH TOPICAL REMEDIES . It lives in the hair follicle ...The doc will prescribe oral anti fungals...

You got it backwards.... you need to consult with your

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

It depends on the area affected by cancer, its stage, type, and grade. Based on this your Oncologist will decide the course of treatment. Most common and must treatment are -

Surgery, Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy. different medicines are used for different cancers and short term (one day) or long term (4 days) chemo are given. The hair loss will start after completing the first cycle in about 15 days and before starting next cycle all hair will fall and the patient becomes bald. Generally 2 or 3 such cycles of chemotherapy are given. In 85% of the chemotherapy hair fall is a certain. But it will grow back to the original level in about 6 months time.

I suggest to get a wig ordered and as per the present hair length and style so that people may overlook your change and you also will not feel embarrassed.

Best of Luck

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

It depends on the treatment you are having.

Some things can be done to slow hair loss, such as cold caps.

Ask your chemo nurse for advice.

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

my wife had 8 chemos

it only takes one chemo and depending on the type of chemo and strength you may or may not lose you hair

my wife had chemo ln august 29 for 6 days and lost her hair in 3 weeks

she lost her hair 3 times out of 8 chemos over the past two years

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

one treatment only.

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

It varies, I lost my hair after 2months of chemo 1988

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

It depends on the type of the medicine and the individual patient. I've seen people lose all their hair after one cycle and others keep it the whole way through. There's no real way to predict what will happen, so you just have to be prepared for it.

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

Much depends on your hair type and the type of chemo you receive.

My son had dark and light blonde very thick hair. All the dark blonde hair fell out within two months after starting high dose chemo treatment. But the light hair remained for three or more months.

His next chemo treatment he didn't lose his hair at all, in fact it all grew back.

So, it depends alot on each individual and the type of chemo they receive.

By the way, losing his hair never bothered him. When it was cold out he just wore a baseball cap or something warm. Also all his hair grew back once he stopped the chemo that was making it fall out to begin with.

Just keep in mind that hair loss is temporary and keep a good sense of humor about it all.

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

My hair never fell out,but in thinned out after having 2 or 3 treatments of chemo.

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

it depends , my son didnt lose his hair at all .

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

Everyone is different as is the drug you are on. Ask your doctor or the nurse that will administer the chemo.

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

It only took one for me. About 10 days later hair was clogging the shower drain! That was every day for about 5 days, I was losing hair in the shower.

I had CHOP for Lymphoma, that caused my hair loss. Different chemos would work differently.

Best Wishes!

Does any one know how many chemo treatments it takes before losing you hair?

it depends on the kind of chemo a person gets and each person is different.my bf had 1 treatment and his hair came out in hand full in 2 weeks

I just recently got mine permed. they did a non ammonia (good for color treated hair) iso perm. it made it curly, but i can blow dry it straight and use my curlers or hot iron to it and it stays a lot thicker now. Volumizers kinda work but not real well. I would try perming it. :o) hope that helps

Use Humectress Moisturizing Conditioner.. This product is so great that after the first treatment, it leaves the hair silky and smooth and over a few months, 3 months to be exact, you would see noticed that your hair will start to look fuller and prettier and again, silky and smooth! I would use this product 1 week for 3 months straight and then for 2 weeks. It's a must have product!

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

I have a history of alopecia...but my hair has been growing back( because of scalp stimulating treatments) and I would like it to stay that way. Please help.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Well other than what you already know you can try gelatin powder a form of protein if you will that is said to grow nails fast and as you guessed hair. Also msm wouldn't hurt, it is also good for arthritis if you have. Another good thing for hair growth is keeping the hair you got on your head. If your hair keep breaking off than you will never have long hair, so try low maintainace styles. Eat plenty of sulfur rich foods, this is good for the hair and also get enough b vitamin and zinc.

Hope this helps a bit.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Prenatal pills won't help yur hair grow any faster, but may help it become healthier as it grows out.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

put them gel every day in the way you want

hope it helps!!!

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

I think it's more the actual being pregnant than the prenatal vitamans. Since hormones are all over the place. And it depends on you personally. My hair didn't grow longer or thicker when I was preggers, it seemed to fall out more.

Have you tried wigs? I know some people think it's terrible or whatever, but think of the many options and how much fun you could have with wigs. =) Or extentions? I would love some extensions.. super fun!

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

i dont know about prenatal. i cut mine every 6-8 months for locks of love. it's the protein in a diet such eggs peanut butter.high protein diet it works for me the rest of my family cant grow hair like that.but they dont eat like i do either.they live on junk food and fast food

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

I am actually trying to conceive a baby (have been trying for 3 years) and I take prenatals. I think it does help my hair to grow faster. It isn't like you will see it happen over night but it is helping. I guess it probably depends on the person and how they react to that vitamin but it works for me. my hair is also thicker and healthier. I take 2 prenatals a day. I know nothing about MSM pills though because I am limited on what I can take for medications.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Prenatal vitamins are a hot topic these days. Everyone is touting the benefits of using them prior to getting pregnant to help prevent certain birth defects and continuing them during pregnancy and breastfeeding for continued protection from nutrition deficiencies. However, despite all of the attention these little pills get there are a lot of fallacies as well.

This is false because the goal of prenatal vitamins is to supplement your diet not to replace it. In fact, prenatal vitamins work better when you are eating a healthy diet that includes a variety of foods. There are also known deficiencies in prenatal vitamins, for example calcium. The levels of calcium in the average prenatal vitamin is 250 mg.

A pregnant woman needs about 1,200 - 1,500 mg of calcium daily to help her and the baby adequately grow.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Try horsetail in a pill form

Hair texture problem?

I seem to be having a perpetual bad hair day.

My hair, for the most part, is straight. However, i have a nappy texture to it. It looks nice when I set it with big rollers, but it's kind of pain to do that every day esp, when I'm running late in the morning.

Any recommended products or treatments?

p.s. I do have color treated hair but I've been dying it darker (natural color is dirty blonde)for the past year, so it's not totally fried from perioxide. Plus, I've always seem to have this problem.

many thanks in advance

Hair texture problem?

Oh, do I feel for you! I joined posting here because I was frustrated by my PERPETUAL bad hair days and was seeking help too. I had to learn to stop fighting my texture and learn to embrace it. Here's what I've come across:

Whether you want to tame-- or explore-- your curly side, try Miss Jessie's Curly or Baby Buttercream (I like the Baby better-- it doesn't smell as strong). It has natural ingredients, keeps your hair hydrated so it doesn't look fried, and leaves hair really manageable.

Check out the "tons of pictures" link on the site and see if there's anyone with hair like you. That's how I decided to try it. Unfortunately, it's pretty pricey. I started with a small size, now I think it's worth it.

Good Luck!

Hair texture problem?

Put an anti-freeze product throughout and then put it up into a tight bun until you have to leave. When you let it loose it should be in nice waves

Any information or anyone with personal experience w/male permanent laser hair removal on & arou

Would like to know recommendations as to types of procedures and lasers? Would also like to hear from both male and female prespective (pro's and con's) with permanently removing male hair on and around genitalia and surrounding area? Any idea as to the duration of the treatment or treatments as well as the cost?

Any information or anyone with personal experience w/male permanent laser hair removal on %26amp; around genitals?

Laser hair removal works great in this area. The area also becomes much more sensitive after removal so take that for what it is worth.

Make sure you go to someone who knows what they are doing. The attached site is helpful.

Any information or anyone with personal experience w/male permanent laser hair removal on %26amp; around genitals?

Laser hair removal is not permanent, just long lasting. I do mine about every 8 months. Firs ttreatment was about $1000, most recent re visti was $400.

I definately think guys should be well groomed. Nothing like choking up a hairball to ruin the mood.

Is there any one with this type of hair like this who can straighten it?

my hair is a mixture of black hair, and white hair with a spanish backround.do u have this hair or close 2 it that has been straightend and worked out so well that u can were it down without it getting frizzy?no price range.and i mean a treatment like bioionics.thnx, peace

Is there any one with this type of hair like this who can straighten it?

I hear 'ya. I have the same type of hair almost, and I straightned it every day this year.

Okay- what I do is that I take a shower at night [and if your hair is really wavy/frizzy/curly like mine can get, then take showers every other day.] but when you take a shower [at night] use a straightening shampoo and conditioner. then when you get out towel dry your hair a bit. then brush it out with a wide-toothed comb. Then put a straightening spray in your hair, as well as anti-frizz syrum. [optional] then blow dry your hair as straight as you can get it with a roller brush and a hair dryer. When your hair is about 90% dry, put your dryer on cool setting and hold your hair in place while you blow dry it with cool air. [if you have a cold setting do that. if not- then just completely dry your hair] then take a hair straightner ("flatiron") and straighten your hair. [if you have thick hair use a wider straightner] When your done, do the cool setting on your dryer and hold your hair in place while drying your hair [again] (the cold setting closes your hair folicles to prevent frizzing) when youur hair is all finished.. put in an anti-frizz, shining/finishing spray, or anything you want to prevent frizz.

Then you have perfect straight hair. =]

Hope that helps.

P.S- or if none of this helps, you can also get a Chinese straightening treatment. It takes about 8 hours to do and usually last until your hair grows out, [or like 8 months]

just ask your hair salon.

Is there any one with this type of hair like this who can straighten it?

one of my clients has hair like that and i can flat iron it with no frizz. it lasts her about a week. she usually wears it straight one week and either curly or up the next week so it doesn't get damaged.

How can i grow my hair naturally ?

i have a got a very curly hair.all r telling that it never grow, but i want it to grow. kindly giv sum tips.

note:only by home treatment

How can i grow my hair naturally ?

There is no reason that your hair shouldn't grow. My hair is curly too and it is long. It will take a lot longer than straight hair because it springs up. Just use conditioner when you wash it, and only wash a few times a week, like every other day. Also trim it just a little to keep it healthy while you wait for it to grow.

My hair is damaged, help?

kay so like, i went natural, and cut off all my permed hair, during the summer. since then i've been blow drying and straightening it like every three days. and now when my hair drys, it's not even an afro anymore, it's like straight and really poofy and dry and it sticks up in the air. it's not cute. but i think it's because like three times in the past i've used heat on my hair while it had oil in it (after hot oil treatments that i couldn't completely wash out). when i'm finished with my blow dry/straightening routine, my hair is straight, shiny, and very soft. but it has some breakage. what should i do now?

My hair is damaged, help?

this is really simple but it works. When you're washing your hair; put the conditioner in your hair first and work it through, rinse and then shampoo GENTLY. It makes a big difference

My hair is damaged, help?

trim off the broken and damaged hair

My hair is damaged, help?

I think what you need is to have your hair permantly straightened-it sounds like your straighteners aren't good for your hair type. Go to the hairdressers and have it done, and that should sort out your problem.

If you don't want that done, you may just have to have it cut regularly, use products to protect your hair from the straighteners, or maybe not use your straighteners so much.

My hair is damaged, help?

My hair is damaged, help?

There is this creme oil moisturizer stuff by Softsheen-Carson. It's an Oil therapy, it has no greasy build and it prevents breakage. It can be found at walmart it's in a yellow container. So after you wash your hair put a small amount of hair grease in the palm of your hand and rub in hair really good and trim your hair then blow dry. After that use the moisturizer and flat iron it then wrap it.

My hair is damaged, help?

OMG you are not suppose to blow dry your hair hat much no wonder it is damaged.

try doing a protein treatment to give your hair some strength back. also don't do protein treatments more than every 6 weeks or it can make your hair feel crunchy and brittle.

make sure you moisturize your hair every day or every other day Afro hair is naturally dry and LOVES moisture.

also don't use any thing with mineral oil and petroleum in it cause it clogs your scalp. Shea butter and light oils like almond oil, carrot oil or tea tree oil on your scalp.

you will have to cut out the damaged part but do that gradually and slowly cut it off.

try and do more natural styles so you don't use heat so much

this is a good site for natural hair

http://www.nappturality.com/modules/myal...

My hair is damaged, help?

OH NO! Your hair does sound damaged. It needs a rest. You will need a professional to trim off the damage. Do not apply that much heat to your hair. You should wash it once a week at the most.

I had a relaxer and grew out my hair. It is totally natural now. Sometimes during the week you may want to wash it to refresh the curl. Only in these necessary circumstances should you wet it (do not shampoo) and saturate it with conditioner and rinse in a few minutes. You can leave some of the conditioner on the hair (not the scalp though). You can leave it slightly slimy. (never over rinse- it strips the hair).

I have never had a problem with straightening my hair with oils (all hair is different). Invest in high-quality ceramic straightening tools. They distribute the heat evenly and cause less damage.

Try more styling methods that use less or no heat. Try a "twist out" or a "braid out" by braiding or twisting your hair while it is wet, drying under a hood dryer and unraveling it when it is completely dry. Depending on the size of the braid or twist, you will have a head full of waves, crimps or coils. http://www.curlyhairsalon.com/naturalhai... I even began setting my damp hair at night so that I could let it air dry and avoid any heat products.

There are so many ways you can care for your natural afro hair. The first step to caring for your hair is understanding that it requires a different regime than straight hair. Once you accept its characteristics, you will understand the realities of your styling options and methods. Have fun!

How do i make my hair look less greasier?

My hair always tends to look greasy! I have tried a number of different shampoos and conditioners but it doesnt seem to work! Do you think its start of puberty or more to do with the treatment?

How do i make my hair look less greasier?

Quit using any products on your hair! Use a clarifying shampoo, lather and rinse twice, very thoroughly. Do this for two setsof shampoo days. NO products, not even cream rinse! If your hair gets frizzy, put it in a braid, or wear a hat.

Scrub all your combs, brushes, hairbands; wipe down barettes, etc.

Then buy shampoo/conditioner formulated for your hair type - oily, volume, frizzy, etc.

How do i make my hair look less greasier?

use a clarifing shampoo and skip the conditioner. to keep it from getting greasy wash your hair everyday twice a day (during the same shower) first to losen up the dirt and a second timme to clear it away.

How do i make my hair look less greasier?

When I was 12( 3 years ago), i would wash my hair with all kinds of stuff all the time and it still looked greasy...I asked my mom why it did this and she said because i washed it too much! What?! how could this be?......She said that i was taking any and all oil off my hair so it was making my head produce a whole bunch of oil..

How do i make my hair look less greasier?

Honey if your hair is greasy use less or no conditioner.

How do i make my hair look less greasier?

Could be both if you have oily skin as well. Try something without all the "treatments" such as plain castile shampoo, quite mild and no additives to stimilate oil production.

How do i make my hair look less greasier?

i'm sure it has a lot to do with puberty. you can try putting baby powder in your hair, that soaks up oil. alcohol is drying to hair and hairspray has a lot of alcohol in it so you could try spraying it in the roots. bumble and bumble makes a good hair powder to soak up oil which is similair to baby powder but it's colored so if you have dark hair it still looks natural.

Shampoo your hair twice, then use very little to no conditioner on your scalp.

How can you remove semi-permanent hair dye without changing the natural hair color?

I need some hair help- fast! My natural hair color is a medium/dark blonde, but I decided to use a semi-permanent(28 day wash out) dark red dye on it. It looked very pretty for the first two or three weeks, but then it took on this dull red-orange color. Since then, the color has stayed the same, and it's been six weeks since I dyed it.

I would like to have my blonde-ness back by wednesday, because school starts back up, and I don't want to go with this odd red-orange mess. I tried one of the crystal clarifying treatments, but it barely changed the color of my hair. Since it takes nearly a year and a half to grow it out, I don't want to use bleach or another dye to make the red go away. I obviously don't have a salon license, so my choice of products is probably limited. I was wondering if there are any products that will take the dye out without changing my natural hair color at all. Thanks.

How can you remove semi-permanent hair dye without changing the natural hair color?

The red molecule in hair color is the biggest...Wich makes it difficult to penitrate into the hair shaft but once in, it is the hardest to remove from the hair. It is also the hardest color to maintain looking as vibrant as it does in the begining week or two.

In your question you wrote you did not want to use another color or bleach.....The only way you will be able to get rid of the red will be by covering it up with another color that will counter act the red/orange.....which is going to be a color with a purple, blue, or green undertone.....You should choose a color that is one level lighter than your natural color....I would recommend having it professionally done. Hair color that salons use is much different than store bought color....salon color leaves your hair feeling better than when you walked through the door.....Store color leaves your hair feeling like straw...Plus you will have the expertise of a trained professional to figure out your corrective color......Otherwise, you could end up just creating another mess on your head!!!!

How can you remove semi-permanent hair dye without changing the natural hair color?

what i would do is get hair dye and match it up to my natural hair color. i done that and no one really noticed.

How can you remove semi-permanent hair dye without changing the natural hair color?

There is nothing that will remove the color without changing your natural color. Semi-permanent stains the cuticle and washes out slowly but usually always affects the natural color until cut off.

I would suggest that you just make the best of what you have by using a non-ammonia color gloss. Such as Jazzing or Sebastian Cellophane's or Matrix Prisms. They contain no ammonia and will not alter your natural color. Another option is to use a shampoo with red color pigments in it. It will enhance the red and add shine until it grows out. There is also a clear gloss that only adds shine.

One other option is to use the color gloss, but go opposite, an ash color in the gloss. It might neutralize some of the red-orange and become a more natural looking brown.

But do not try to lighten your hair by Wednesday to a blond, only a professional would be able to do it correctly.

My hair is like straw and wont get healthier.. please help!!?

Use a deep-conditioning treatment. I'd recommend Pantene Pro-V's Repairing Color Damage Care.

I am not sure you used the right products then.

Try Supercharged moisturizer by Ross mitchel, I leave it in when I am at the beach. Also try to change hairdresser perhaps. Definitely don't keep drastically changing your haircolor anymore, maybe consider wiggs to change it up.

I also went from blonde-black and back to blonde again but my hair is healthy. I use reconstructor by Lanza and Professional Silk. Avoid blowdrying your hair and sleep in moisturizer overnight.

My hair is like straw and wont get healthier.. please help!!?

regaining healthy hair will take time, but neednt be THAT expensive, i did what you did, and the best way i found to keep my hair in great condition, despite still having it black, is, when you was your hair, do it as usual, then put on conditioner, i use VO5 deep nourishing, work into your hair as normal, then wrap your head in a towel for 5 mins, and then rinse, my hairdresser advised me to do this and its amazing the difference it makes. we tend to rinse our hair before conditioner has had a chance to work properly as standing there seems a long time but it isnt really, try it, you got nothing to loose and it doesnt cost anymore than washing your hair as you do now, good luck

My hair is like straw and wont get healthier.. please help!!?

Yes and thats the result of this colouring nonsense! LOL

Cut your hair short

let the real colour and texture grow... keep cutting

and then dont spoil your hair again!!

my doctor applied dermaglue to my wound instead of using stitches, what exactly is the treatment and does it have side effects. i was told icoulndt wash the wound on my face for 10 days. so i cant even wash my hair for 10days. anyways , what exactly is derma glue, i couldnt find any information about this online and my doctor was in a haste and i couldnt ask any questions.

My doctor applied dermaglue to my wound instead of using stitches, what exactly is the treatment and does it h

This method is less traumatic than stitches. The super glue in stores is similar in composition to the glue that physicians use in surgery. It will flake off in a few days. Your doc doesn't want you to get it very wet because he doesn't want it to come apart. Clean your wound the way he instructed you to. If you don't remember the instructions, call his office nurse. They can instruct you and are less intimidating than the doctor. She/He can also answer your questions about the glue. Don't worry, this procedure has been around a long time. If you want to research it on the internet, type in glue for wounds and lots of info will come up. good luck!

i think it,s like skin to heal better. who told you not to wash for ten days.if the doctor than wash around the wound and go to thr drug store and get dry shampoo for your hair you should be ok

I have read articles about esssential oils like rosemary and lavendar stimulating scalp and new hair growth. Is this true? Also, what about scalp massage to help hair growth? I know nutrition, exercise, enough sleep etc are most important but what about these additional treatments? Has anyone seen a difference in their hair.

Does anyone know how to treat fried hair?

MY HAIR IS STARTING TO GET FRIED AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO MAKE IT HEALTHIER... I STOPED STRAIGHTENING IT AS MUCH I ONLY STRAIGHTIN IT LIKE ONCE EVERY 2 OR 3 WEEKS BUT TO ME ITS STILL FRIED AND I NEVER BLOW DRY IT OR USE CHEMICALS IN IT...SO IS THERE LIKE SOME SPECIAL TREATMENT? OR SOMETHING?

Does anyone know how to treat fried hair?

Cutting back on straightening is the smartest decision. Unfortunately, the damage that heat styling has caused has already been done and you really can't reverse it. However, you can take small steps to improve the condition of your hair. First, assuming your hair is relatively long, it would be in your best interest to cut off some of the length, as much as you can stand. Try to use moisturizing conditioners. Check the ingredients, because products containing protein are very beneficial to hair that is damaged. Also, use a deep conditioner once a week is a good idea. They sell various deep conditioners at local drugstores, so they're cheap and easy to find. Lastly, if you do intend on straightening your hair once every 2 to 3 weeks which isn't that bad, use heat protectant products that aid in preventing heat damage when using blowdryers, straighteners, etc. Several drugstore brands such as Tresamme and V05 sell heat styling sprays which you lightly spray on your hair before using any styling tools. Good luck!

Does anyone know how to treat fried hair?

First, you should probably straighten it less than that if it's as damaged as you make it out to be.

You should also start from the inside out; drink PLENTY of water, 8-10 cups. Also, try taking vitamins and eat lots of fruits, vegetables, protein, fiber, etc.

I would recomend not shampooing your hair everyday. You should about 1-2 times a week, especially if your hair is very curly, because curly hair tends to be dryer.

Do not heat style it for a WHILE. Get the ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks to get rid of split ends.

Also, about every one to two weeks, you could try putting baby oil or a liquid vitamin oil in your hair. Apply a good amount and put a shower cap on. Leave it in overnight and in the morning rinse it thoroughly with warm water.

Also, you could rinse it with cool/cold water for a little extra shine.

When your hair dries, use a good leave in conditioner. Buy shampoo and conditioner made especially for damaged/dry hair.

Please don't use very cheap products either, if you want really good results, use very good salon products.

Does anyone know how to treat fried hair?

try some noushirizing shampoos

How do you save your hair after it's been fried?

I recently had my hair highlighted. This is something I do every two months, but this time my hair was ruined.

It's naturally curly -- and that's the way I wear it. Now it kinks instead of curls and several pieces are stick straight. Is there any way I can repair it? A good conditioning treatment . . . ?

How do you save your hair after it's been fried?

If you get it done every two months, this really shouldnt have been a problem, and it should have just been a retouch. It sounds like she probably covered whole strands of your hair with bleach, instead of just the regrowth.

Try Aveda's Damage Remedy line, and look for a leave-in product called "It's a 10".

This happened to me when I bleached the top half of my hair, i had to do it three times. I used "It's a 10", and my hair is incredibly healthy today from it.

How do you save your hair after it's been fried?

First...do not damge your hair any more, give it a rest.... use the best products, try a deep conditioner, do not apply any heat to your hair for a while.... be gentle when you comb/brush out your hair when wet, or just pick it out and dont brush it......

How do you save your hair after it's been fried?

Depending on if they used bleach or a High Lift Color System to lighten would help answer your question better. But if its fried usually getting it trimmed till the damaged part is cut off is your only answer. You can baby your hair with treatments (conditioning) they offer from the salon but it will not FIX the hair. Every 2 months is too often to have hair done unless you keep very short. Your stylist knows that. We ladies want our hair perfect these days because its looks so good kept up but we are KILLING our hair. Most good stylist will not do this every 2 months because they know the damage. I will not do that to my clients...I often refuse clients with damaged hair.

How do you save your hair after it's been fried?

here are some home remedies which are very good for dry hair. i had dry hair myself but when i tried these tips it was great! they've never been dry again!

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Beat up on an Egg: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, and whip the white thoroughly. Then add 1 tablespoon of water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Next, mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the egg mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, and then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up. Continue to rinse until all of the egg is washed away

Go for the Mayo: Heat up one half cup of mayonnaise until it becomes an oily, white goo and apply to dry, unwashed hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse and shampoo thoroughly.

Mix up a Tropical Treat: Mash one over-ripe banana (the blacker, the better) with a mushy, rotten avocado. Massage this exotic puree into your hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes before washing out鈥n the kitchen sink!).

Grab a Cold One. Beer can give your dry hair a healthy sheen. Before you blow-dry or style, use a pump bottle to spray brew onto your hair. The beer will leave your hair shiny and sleek and its odor will disappear quickly.

In addition to using these home remedies regularly to avoid dry hair, try the following preventative measures:

Avoid overshampooing. Shampooing can wash away the hair's protective oils, so try washing less often and use a mild shampoo labeled "for dry or damaged hair."

Condition regularly. Conditioners protect the hair鈥檚 cuticle layer from splitting from the shaft. Pick a conditioner that works well for your hair and use it after every shampoo.

Wear a hat. Too much exposure to wind and sun can leave hair thirsty.

Trim off split ends. The biggest problem caused by dry hair is split ends. Schedule a trim every six to eight weeks to keep fraying ends under control.

Ease up on the heat. Heat (in the form of blow dryers, as well as straightening and curling irons) can quickly dry out hair. Let your hair air dry occasionally. Try using plastic cylinder rollers to straighten hair by wrapping slightly moist hair under and around rollers for about 10 minutes. For curling, try using sponge rollers overnight or sleeping with moist braids.

Don't swim without a cap. Use a rubber cap to protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine. If you must forgo a cap, rub a spoonful of olive oil into your hair before diving in.

Another thing is also putting in lotion in your hair after you have gotten out of the shower and you can also put in lotion in hair after you have dried it.

Just rub some lotion on your finger tips and run it through your hair evenly.

Also, something that will help your hair is to take COLDshowers. What most people dont know is that if you take hot showers, the heat gets rid of the oils and other things that your hair needs to be kept healty and shiney.

Smash an avocado and mix with jojoba and peppermint oils. Make sure its really smooth you may want to put it in a food processor with a little water. Then apply some to your scalp and the rest on your hair. Massage for a minute or so then put on a plastic cap. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes. The avocado and jojoba oils will moisterize and the peppermint will stimulate your scalp to loosen any dead skin and open your pores. It will feel great. Your hair will grow better and won't be dry. :)

Hope this helps!

What is the best treatment for wavy hair with dry split ends?

First, get it trimmed. You should get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks to keep it healthy. As for the frizzy part, I have problems with that too. But instead of spending all that money on products that just lie to you, I use a straightener. Sure, it's damaging but as long as you don't keep it on your hair for too long you should be ok.

For split ends, just a regular trim and treatment with a conditioner for dry hair.

What you can do is put Biosilk, Silk Therapy into your hair. I got mine at the hair salon I go to. It's in a clear bottle with clear liquid in it that is a little thick. That is to take the frizz away. Do you want your hair to be curly? Wht I do is put my hair into those pink sponge rolers before I go to bed. (Leave your hair a little bit wet.) I always want my hair to have small sections curled so I put more into my hair. And I put all sizes. And in the morning when I wake up I slowly take them out and twist them a little to give it more of a curl, and I am ready for the day. You might want to put hairspray to keep the curls tight.

What is the best treatment for wavy hair with dry split ends?

Keep in mind that once you get split ends, the only thing you can do to get rid of them is have them cut. You can use different products on the market in order to avoid this from happening again, but since you mention you already have them, have them cut. Really. Split ends don't allow the hair to breathe properly and thus, it gets weak and doesn't grow fast.

Once you've had your hair trimmed, use a hair SERUM every time after shamppoing your hair. Apply it at the ends of your hair(I suggest Frizz Ease, but any will do) and then blow dry as usual.

However, if you have time give your hair a super treatment at home using firstly your shampoo, then a conditioner, a hair mask and finish off with the serum. Your hair will thank you for it!

Straight hair!!?

Ok so i never have time to straighten my hair, but i really want it straight. i don't have time to blow-dry or straighten, and i tried a chemical treatment once, and it fried it, but nevertheless, still curly. any ideas? -only things that have already been tried and work please!

Straight hair!!?

a perm

Straight hair!!?

I know what you mean, I had the same problem for a while, but I finally got it. I use Herbal Essences "Dangerously Straight" and it works pretty well, I still do have to straighten some parts of it. If you're wiling to spend money on a nice straightener, I have the Ion Color Brilliance Wet or Dry and it works like a dream, on wet or dry hair (which you have probably figured). Also, it has never fryed my hair. I have pretty thick hair, and it still works, I dont know what your hair type is, but if it works for mine, I think it will work for yours, whatever type it is.

Straight hair!!?

You just have to make time then. Doing it chemically is probably the only way. Did you have someone do it or did you do it your self? They have different ways to chemically straighten your hair but they can be pricey. Like Japanese hair straightneing. Good luck!

Straight hair!!?

Nothing works better than going into a salon and get a rebonding. I have wavy hair too, and it really sucks having unruly hair everyday, blowdrying with straightening balm hardly works. I bought the crimper and it works but too time consuming. So I went in for rebonding-ask for Shishedo cream, that makes your hair softer. Lo'real cream is too drying. Your right, chemical treatments are harsh for the hair, so remember your daily after treatment (condition your hair, shampoo, then condition..then leave in conditioner) =)

Straight hair!!?

I have straightened my own hair using an ordinary perm solution. put the perm solution on your hair, comb it through and let it set for the time the directions give. rinse it out completely and then apply the neutralizer for TEN mins, not the five they say. then, rinse well with lukewarm water and squeeze all the excess water out. DO NOT rub it dry at this point, or you will damage the ends. good luck and let us know what happens.

Straight hair!!?

try to get japanese straightening done from a nice hair salon.. it makes miracles to your hair.. it would be deadly straight for atleast 6months... believe me it works and there are no side effects too... you dont need any maintanance... not even a comb for initial one month atleast... wash it as you normally do... worth trying but a little expensive though...

hope this helps you :)

How do I get this residue off my hair?

Ok so I washed my hair the other day and when it was dry I found that I had this residue on it. It made my hair feel greasy and I dont use grease. I went to the salon about a week ago and she did a clarifying treatment on my head. I have been using the same shampoo and conditioner that I have always used. I dont know what happened. I dont use blow dryers I wrap my hair at night while its wet and the go to sleep and then normaly when I wake up in the morning my hair is how I want it to look. I rarely use heat in my hair. But now I dont know what to do with this.

How do I get this residue off my hair?

Try Baking Soda mixed with your shampoo and put it on your hair. It will clean the nasty residue off. Then condition as usual.

How do I get this residue off my hair?

Switch shampoo and only use conditioner on the tips of your hair.

You really need to keep a couple different kinds of shampoo on hand. Switch or alternate them every week.

Below is very useful information to help understand your hair. (This particular chapter is under more myth busting)

http://www.cosmeticscop.com/shop/books.a...

MYTH: You need to change or alternate shampoos because your hair adapts to them. The hair and scalp can鈥檛 鈥渁dapt to鈥?shampoos. Hair is dead, so it cannot adapt or become used to something. What can happen is that the conditioners, emollients, and slip agents (such as silicones) found in many shampoos can build up on the hair shaft over time, making the hair limp, sticky, or dull. That buildup is easily washed away with a different shampoo that does not contain those specific ingredients. Then the cycle starts all over again when you switch back and the original shampoo鈥檚 conditioning and styling agents start building up.

How do I get this residue off my hair?

Use the Sunsilk products they will help your hair big time.

How do I get this residue off my hair?

Change shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes if you use a product for a long while, you get a build up of it in your hair. Try Ojon. http://www.ojon.com Take a look at their website, you'll see there what they are all about. It's very natual.

How do I get this residue off my hair?

If you have too much oily stuff and cannot get it out the best thing I found (I managed to get something nasty oily in my hair once..yuck) I found...strangely...that Dawn dishwashing detergent got it out. Condition it after you do this but make sure the shampoo and conditioner is not to blame for the mess or you will have to get the Dawn out again and redo it.

The stuff I managed to get in my hair came from my shampoo/conditioner and I contacted the company but never found what the junk was from their product. I changed product.

Also contact the salon to find out what they used and why you are having trouble now.

How do I get this residue off my hair?

You can buy a Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo and use it once every week, it cleans out completely all the dirt and residues from your hair. Info and review: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio...

What is the best way to remove hair?

My G/F wanted me to have smooth and hairless body.

I tried dry shaving, wet shaving, shaving with gel, shaving with foam, electric shaver and a woman's phillishave, they all worked but a day or 2 later my skin comes out in spots.

I also tried Men`s waxing strips, it nearly pulled my skin off and left all the hairs :-| I tried Veet for men and it came up spotty again.

The only one that has worked and has had less spots is Veet hair remover for sensitive skin, the only problem with hair removal cream is it hasn`t got a very nice smell to it and you aren`t supposed to put any sort of deodorant on it for 24 hours after, in fact i put some on 48 hours after and i still came up in a rash.

So so far i have to have either hairy skin, smooth skin with spots or smooth skin that smells unpleasant.

Laser treatment would be well expensive too.

Any more ideas?

What is the best way to remove hair?

after shaving just wash ur skin wid soap n thell nt b any unpleasant smell.after u wax,rub ice gently over the skin n there will b no rashes.i also have sensitive skin n i do this.

Thos burned hair....?

im brunette. Some of my hair are very curly and black as if they are burned!!! there arnt alot, about 50..it s normally on the top. what is that? how can i get rid of them?(i usualy cut them..)is there a treatment? is it ormal to have them?

Thos burned hair....?

Don't cut them. It'll make them look worse. you have dry damaged hair that just needs time to repair. Get regular hair cuts so your ends don't get fried. And start using conditioning treatments on your hair. If you have very dry hair only shampoo every other day. In the mean time use a pomade to control the fly away hairs that you have.

Thos burned hair....?

sounds like you are going balled. you might as well just shave your head.its ok a shaved head feels great!

Hair tips and advice?

for the olive oil treatment is it okay it do it twice a week or once a week?

Does blow-drying your hair damage it?

Hair tips and advice?

Blow drying your hair definitely damages it. It causes breakage and dryness. I would try a deep conditioning treatment such as Biolage or Redken. Comb through your hair and put a plastic cap on for about 20 - 25 minutes. Then rinse and twist sections of hair while its wet and let it dry naturally.

Hair tips and advice?

Blow-drying your hair damages it a lot, but the olive oil treatment may help. You shouldn't need to do any big treatment more than once a week.

Hair tips and advice?

u can do it once, twice, three if ya reall want to! but u should get results even with once a week (after a month).

blow drying does damage it, but u can buy creams to protect your hair from heat, theres one by redken that works really well, your hair feels amazing after blowdrying with it!

Hair tips and advice?

You should only do the olive-oil treatment once a week. DO NOT BLOW DRY YOUR HAIR! It does damage it.

Hair tips and advice?

DO NOT USE HAIRSPRAY!!!!!!!! IT WILL PEEL UR SCALP AND MAKE UR HAIR BREAK, AND DO NOT USE A LOT OF LOTION IN IT

Hair tips and advice?

braids- 1 or 2, french braids (search how to french braid on Q search), side braid

ponytails- half, side, pigtails

buns- loose and messy

gel- scrunch it

iron- straighten it, curl it, crimp it

accessories- headbands, scarves, cute clips, cute bows, bandanas.

hair part- part it on the side

bangs- clip them up

blow drying too much will damage it because of the heat

air dry it as often as possible

How to straighten my hair?

I have really curly hair and really thick hair. i mean if i grow it out it becomes an afro. i was just wondering if there is a way to get it to be straight and for it to lay down like normal hair. i dont care if i have to get treatments or products or anything like that i just want it to be straight any thoughts?

How to straighten my hair?

get a mild just for me perm leave it in half of what the time the box says wash it out and i gurantee itll be str8

How to straighten my hair?

Go and purchace a chi flat iron, or have your hair flat-ironed professionally at your nearest salon. Normally costs $20-40 depending on where you go.

How to straighten my hair?

I have the same issue. I have unbelieveably curly and thick hair. I bought a straightener, one with ceramic plates, as to not scorch your hair, and I straighten it after I take a shower, and small spots in between. I also use a spray specifically designed to protect your hair from the heat.

So basically, towel dry your hair, or let it naturally dry. Make SURE your hair is completely dry, or you will fry it when you straighten it. Then, section by section, run the straightener through your hair, and voila! Straight hair. Mind you, it'll curl should it get wet.

Straight hair?

does anyone know how to get your hair straight with out using astraightener and with out expensive treatments?

Straight hair?

I saw a kit you could get at Walgreen's that help to straighten your hair and they also make straightening shampoo and conditioner

Straight hair?

there is no way. you need straighteners! for any kind of straightening, they last long as well!

it doesnt have to be really expensive straightners, and as the market floods with different types of makes, you can surely pick one for less than half the price than the origional GHD!

Straight hair?

i think their is FAIR

it is an electric instrument that make your hair straight or by using a cream for straigh hair

Straight hair?

blow drying your hair

Straight hair?

If u like ur hair looking straight all the time, perhaps its time u make an appt with ur hairdresser for a perm, that way u no longer need temporary "fixes".Just remember to mosturize a lot so it doesnt make ur hair all dry %26amp; lookin unhealthy.Good Luck

Straight hair?

Dreadlocks....

Straight hair?

Blow drying can help. Use a brush and hold sections while you dry. Really the only way to get it really straight is to buy a hair straightener. Good ones are expensive but you can get them for as little as $40 and they really do work.

Straight hair?

theres no way you can straighten your hair without using heat. you can blow dry it but you cant get the straight hair like you use the straightener.

Straight hair?

there's this thing called japanese hair straightener, its worth the wait it takes a while to do the job like 4hours but it lasts for a year, when you have that you don't have to hairdry or straighten your hair. Usually asians do this

Need help with hair loss question!?

I got my hair cut for the first time today since April 2006. The period since then has been one of increased hair loss. I had been unable to brush my hair without seeing a good deal fall out, and a noticeable thinning spot was growing larger on top. I am 20 years old, and male, but nobody with genetic ties to me in my family lost their hair this early. When I got it cut, my hairdresser was shocked to discover that I had not had it trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks. She said that the split ends had gone all the way down to the root, and this was the main reason for the severe thinning, and the pain in all of my follicles when I touch the hair.

My question is, does this actually happen, or was she wrong? Can hair loss be caused by mistreatment like that?

I am going to wait for a while and see if the Nioxin shampoos and treatments she gave me work to restore the lost hair. But I want to know if it's worth the effort, or if I'm actually balding genetically.

Thanks for your answers!

Need help with hair loss question!?

It is true that hair stops growing when there are split ends .With your treatment you can also try this remedy. About 50 to 100 milligrams a day of vitamin B6 taken for one or two months helps decrease hair fall. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair. Check out

Is there a leave-in conditioner out there that doesn't make hair oily?

I'm in need of a leave-in conditioner that doesn't leave my hair oily and gross. I'm currently using 'Citre Shine Fresh Fusion Nourishing Milk Revitalizer Leave-In Treatment' and it's working quite good, except I'm almost finished with the bottle and it's being discontinued!

Anyone have any good ecommendations? Thank you. :o)

Is there a leave-in conditioner out there that doesn't make hair oily?

I have had amazing success with Infusium 23 Leave in conditioner and Granier Fructis. Both are heavy creams and may intimidate you if your afraid your hair will be held down. The key to deep conditioning is apply it only to the ends, or working your way from the ends up. That way the ends recieve the strongest treatment but your roots also recieve it but not as heavily. Good Luck! Hope I could help!

I have been using this product for years. It is called Roux "Porosity Control" and is sold in beauty supply shops.

It is excellent for conditioning hair, removing snarls, and making hair non-frizzy and manageable. Give it a shot. It's great! It does NOT make your hair oily looking or weighed down.

Blonde hair help!!!?

All tints go in range from black through red to lightest blonde, what you should do is mix half and half your target colour with an ash tint , if your target colour (the colour you want to end up) is mid to light blonde then mix it half and half with a mid or light ash blonde and always do what it says on the box. Get it, got it, good!!!!
