Prenatal or hair, skin and nails vitamins. Also, b12 or b complex vitamins and vitamin C. I take 4 doses a day, every day and not only do I get an inch a month in growth every month, my thinning hair has started to regrow and is now curly. Also consider this holistic approach: Kombucha tea. If your interested: http://www.happyherbalist.com/

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

I'm having so much trouble with my hair. I use salon shampoo and conditioner, a boar bristle brush, hot oil treatments, heat protectants, and regular trims, but my hair is still frizzy and dry. Whenever I put my hair in a ponytail, it widens out. Everyone else's ponytails widen then comes together for a smooth 'tip' at the end, but this is where my hair is widest. Even when I use my GHD it doesn't smooth in together. What can I do?

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

i would say to put your hair in an average pony tail (not super tight it pulls on your hair) and then take some hair spray and spritz it on to your hands then run your hands lighly over your head in the dirrection your hair goes!

tip: when your putting your hair in a ponytail look straigth not down like most women do !

another tip: dont put too much heat on your hair it could end up making it frizzier! : (

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

get layers, it will form to the bottom then

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

straightening it makes it get smooth.

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

Buy a fake ponytail and read the instructions

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

This might sound strange but use egg yolks to wash your hair. I used to have the same problem but egg yolks helped me. It's also a good treatment if you have dundruff.

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

oh i know! braid it! it might work :D it'll keep it together and not widen at the tip

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

well you could use a straightener.

or get long layers.

i'd suggest you do both.

[: it should work.

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

right after you put your hair in a pony tair pick up a straightener and STRAIGHTEN STRAIGHTEN STRAIGHTEN!lol

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

this happens to me too. i've learned to deal with it though. if you really want your hair to get straighter try using a straightener. don't buy the cheap 20 dollar ones because they just end up burning your hair. hopes this helps.

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

maybe ur hair is natura;lly puffy- get layers and straiten it. it will be a good tip if u do both these ideas

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

Try layering your hair so that all the bulk isnt at the ends. Do u use a smoothing serum to help defrizz and smooth? This may help. What type of shampoo are u using?

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

Here's a solution to try for your pony tail!

1st Get a really good hair gel or past (Catwalk hair paste) sold at trade secret.

2nd put your hair up in ponytail.

3rd tye a bandana or scarf around your head until it dries.

4th take the ends of your hair and wet it alittle add hair paste or gel, twist the ends until your hair wraps around and cant wrap anymore...leave it until your ready to walk out the door.. un-wrap the ends take the scarf off and you should be all set.

*it would be best if you do this every night befor bed. so when you wake up it will save you some time. good luck!!

How do I put my hair in a ponytail?

Ask your hair stylist for ideas, maybe getting layers would help. Also getting a deep conditioning once a month might help relax your hair and stop from being so dry and frizzy.

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

I used to have straight, soft, silky, moderately thin hair. Three weeks ago I got a perm, more like a body wave. The stylist told me it would look like the picture I brought in. In the end the crown of my hair looks crimped and the bottom is basically the same but thicker. I've used deep conditioning treatments and hot oil treatments. I haven't done anything drastic yet. I've also tried to style it either curly or straight. Curl does not take, neither does trying to scrunch it. When I straighten it it's still very poofy. I told my mom I decided it looks like gorilla hair. I'm afraid to do anything to it, because I don't want it to get worse but it's unmanageable right now and I can only wear it in a ponytail and put it like that when my hair is wet. I need help and advice! Please give me any insights! Thank you.

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

y0u a pr0tein treatment it strengethens the hair, als0 y0u sh0uld get deep conditi0ns, and avoid heat, als0 get a good detangler.. =)~

*h0pe that helps*

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

Here is what I do before going to bed, wihtout the honey......

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Source: http://www.myspace.com/creaturemermaid.....

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

have u tried gel? add some oil to ur hair so it'd weigh it down a little. i've honestly never had a perm before, nor have i ever seen anyone get one, but i've seen it on tv,lol. try using shampoo that strengthen ur hair and also sleeks it.

good luck :]

*~YOU N33D TO GO TO ANOTH3R HAIR STYLIST AND T3LL TH3M TO R3DO IT BUT DON'T L3AV3 IT ON TO LONG BECAUS3 IT CAN ((OV3R-PROCESS)) YOU DONT WANT THAT!!!

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

You've paid good money for your hair but didn't think of the consequences!

You've only ever had to deal with you hair when it was straight so that is what you grew a custom too!

Now it's curly and you have to learn how to manage it!

Was you happy with it when you first left the hair dresser?

Do you have products in your home that cater for your new curly hair style?

This is something you'll have to learn to deal with, ask a hairdresser what products work best for your hair, of look for products in your desired shop.

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

you can use less heat on your hair and get deep conditions

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

Try frizz ease

Can I fix my awful permed hair?

your hair is over processed on the ends that's why it's not curly. no more chemicals in your hair. go to a salon and get k pak reconstructor and hydrator, use a couple of times a week. then get a cut. not short but may be a couple of inches off all over, even off your layers. then experiment with different curling cremes( redken ringlet) let it air dry. if you play with the curl too much you will make your hair frizzy.leave it alone once dried.

Hair Extension Questions?

Okay, I am about to give up hope on my hair.

I've tried every trick in the book for my hair.

I get split ends and breakage from the smallest things-

Tossing and turning on a satin pillowcase, fingercombing, wide-tooth combs, washing.

My hair has NO chemical processing, so it's not chemical damage.

I take EXCELLENT care of my hair. Inside and out - vitamins, lots of milk and water, regular exercise, weekly washing, no styling products what-so-ever, leave-in conditioner, deep conditioner, hot oil treatments.

So unless someone can give me some /awesome/ secrets to help my hair - I'm just going to get extensions because there's no WAY I'm going to be able to grow my hair as long as I want.

So can anybody give me the scoop on extensions?

I extensions that are about waist-length..any reccomended brands?

I just need info on how to care for them, where to get them, average costs, how long they last, etc?

Lost most of my hair?

After I had my second child; my hair started to fall heavily. I tried all treatments, chemicals, herbs, prescriptions and it kept falling. Now I閳ユ獡 having very thin hair in some areas like the front and back as if I will be bald. I閳ユ獡 tired and so frustrated. i spent a fortune on restoring my hair but nothing works.

try this:

How to Reduce Hair Loss

When hair starts falling out it can seem like the end of the world. Follow these tips to try and reduce it as much as possible.

1. Try to identify when the hair loss started and if you changed anything with your hair. For example if you started straightening it or if you started applying lots of mousse. It is likely that this could be the reason. If you find it was due to the use of these things then stop using them.

2. Stick to one shampoo or shower gel. If it is repeatedly changed it could cause damage to your hair as shampoos aren't natural, you would be adding more and more chemical products in your hair which could damage them and cause them to fall out.

3. Oiling the hair also helps with coconut oil for example. By doing this, when you go out the pollution in the environment won't stick straight onto your hair and damage it. It will stick to the oil instead which can be washed off when you get home.

4. Wash your hair regularly, unclean hair could contain lots of damaging things. Frequent washing can help keep hair clean and healthy.

5. Wash your hair with warm to normal temperature water. Water which is too hot can also damage the hair.

6. Try and reduce stress or anxiety that is getting to you. Tension and anxiety do not help as you will be so worried your body won't be mentally healthy so this will lead to physical deterioration too which includes hair loss.

7. Do daily scalp massages as it will increase blood flow in the scalp, sending it to the hair follicles to help stimulate growth.

Tips

* Try not to use straighteners, curlers or other chemical products such as dyes excessively, these can damage your hair if used too frequently.

* Oiling your hair can help keep hair healthier.

* Stick to one shampoo or gel.

* As you get older, your hair gets weaker so don't be too worried if a few strands of hair falling occasionally.

* Try to relax and have an optimistic view on things. A healthy mind leads to a healthy body.

* Doing 'Headstand' pose of yoga for about a minuite daily reduces the hair fall. But please consult your doctor before doing this pose.

Warnings

* If you have tried all of the above methods and nothing seems to be working, see your doctor as in some cases it could be a symtom of a more serious problem.

Also check this web it says which DRUGS MAY CAUSE HAIR LOSS:

Essentially, one of the root causes of hair fall is stress. So, if you are stressed, it is very likely that this is contributing to hairfall, and external remedies may not help. Continue steaming hair with olive oil, it is good for hair. Also, consider taking up yoga or meditation to relax

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

My hair stylist screwed up and cut off a bunch of my hair that I didn't want her to.

I want my hair to grow faster; not unnaturally fast, of course, but I want it to grow faster than it usually does--at tortise pace.

Are there any treatments, shampoos, creams, or home remedies to make hair grow a little faster?

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

take a maternity vitamin. they are chalk full of super good things that will help your hair and nails and skin! they can't harm you, so don't worry about that, but that would be the only thing you can do to help it hurry up a little. just keep it in good healthy condition in the meantime, so the ends don't split while you're waiting for it to grow.

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

I heard that if you spend a lot of time in the sun it helps your hair grow faster. Because your hair absorbs the vitamin D from the sun and other nutrients that help it grow.

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

Generally hair growth is a universal problem. You will need to get the right diet

with enough protein and iron in your body for growth of your hair because hair is made up of keratin,a type of protein. The healthy condition of the hair depends, to a very large extent, on the intake of sufficient amounts of essential nutrients in the daily diet.Persons with a tendency to lose hair should take a well-balanced and correct diet, made up of foods which, in combination, should supply all the essential nutrients.Hair under stress is not vitalized.Tight braids or coils weakens roots and prevents hair from growing longer. Crash diets and low calorie foods could deprive the hair of vital nourishment,so do not eliminate fat and carbohydrates from your diet.A proper diet supplemented adequately by vitamins and minerals will optimize the genetic growth cycle. Any deficiency will be reflected in the volume and thickness of your hair.

Home remedies are made at home and work out less expensive than other alternative forms of medicines.Generally, homemade remedies are harmless when compared to other forms of modern medicines and rarely cause reactions or side effects.

1.Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair.

2.Vitamins B, C, F, zinc, iron, copper and protein are essential for hair growth.

3. Brush your hair gently with preferably wooden brushes to increase hair growth.

4.Boil 1 cup of celery leaves with stems, strain and add juice of 1 lemon. You can

rinse your hair with this after washing your hair. It makes your hair look healthy

and lustrous.

5.Lavender oil has been shown to increase hair growth so massage the oil once a week and soak for 30 minutes before washing.

6.If one wants to grow hair, trim the hair once every month.

7.Never brush the hair when it is wet.

8.Massage aloe vera gel over the scalp and leave it for about one hour. After this rinse the hair with warm water. It gives amazing results for hair growth.

9.Rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar and sage tea helps in hair growth

10.Boil rosemary leaves in water and use this water while washing your hair daily to improve hair growth.

11.Massaging your scalp vigorously with your fingers promotes hair growth.

12.Rinsing your hair with one juiced lemon and one cup of water is said to bring

life and shine back to dull hair.

13.Rub olive oil into the scalp to promote hair growth.

14.Massage the scalp with egg yolk, leave for 1 hour and wash.

15.It helps to put your hair up, so it's not struggling to grow downwards.

hope I helped! :)

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

it's no quick fix my dear, sorry :( all I can suggest for you to do is to keep hair shampooed conditioned and moisturized..I don't know the texture of hair you got, so I can't suggest any products to use

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

prenatals, my hair grew 3 inches in 2 months.

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

Simple...Prenatal vitamins. You can get them from GNC. And no...you don't have to be pregnant to use them. They are actually quite good for you, just make sure you ge the ones WITHOUT Iron, because these vitamins can contain too much iron and make you sick if you're not pregnant.

Or, if it weirds you out to think about taking them....choose the Hair,Skin, and Nails vitamin at GNC. They'll do the trick too. Either way, you'll see results in about 1 1/2 months.

OR, Biotin...which you can purchase at Walmart. Research all of these on the internet and you'll find that they are safe to consume.

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

this will really work listen..... go to any rite aid or big superstore and get a natural oil: its called " stimulating hair growth" it will make your hair grow at a faster pace. its bascily made if vietmans. please try this oil it really will make a differce espaciilley in the scalp%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

check the links below for natural homemade beauty tips to:-- How can you get a faster hair growth

http://geebal.blogspot.com/2007/01/hair-...

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

Keep it clean, drink lots of water, don't stress too much. Oh, and eat lots of protein and start taking a multivitamin with biotin. I want it to grow at a rabbit's pace but unfortunately I don't think it's going to happen considering it's winter right now. In the summer my hair usually grows a good inch+ a month and in the winter a little less than 3/4 of an inch. And that's apparently considered ridiculously fast. I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be that much variance though.

Be patient though....when you have long hair, you notice growth less and it feels like it's taking forever, but one day you're going to look in the mirror and saw that it grew. A lot. I had really long hair (like all the way down my face....I'm a guy) and then I cut it and now I hate it and I'm trying to grow it back. It sucks, I know. Good luck.

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

hair is protein, a diet that is too low in protein may cause some thinning in hair or a retardation in the growth cycle. If you eat a protein-rich diet it will often result in improved hair growth. To Know more about your hair http://tipsfromruby-hairgrow.blogspot.co... will help you.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

I have really really strait hair. Like stick strait hair. Everyone thinks that it must be so easy to keep untangled and silky smooth-wrong! I condition it every night. I've tried blow drying, not blow drying, flat ironing, hot oil treatments, leave-in conditioners, shampoo and conditioner specifically for strait hair, dry hair, hair that tangles easily. None of it works. Within 2 minutes of brushing it, it tangles, sticks up, and becomes a bit stringy. Help me!!!!

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

Honestly, if your hair tangles and you cant comb through it while wet that means you have split ends, which simply requires a trim. You should also change hair treatments. Biologe Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioning Balm is really good at helping with the stringy part of it. I also agree that using a silkening treatment before you straighten it (and it takes a little, otherwise it looks oily) is a good idea. This all has helped me with the same problems you have, my hair (not being vain) is very beautiful and shiny now. It also comes down past my bra line, so I would only recommend getting it cut if you want that or as a last resort. Remember, what works for one may not work for all....so try several different kinds before you resort to whacking it off unless that is what YOU want.

If Biologe does not work try Straigtline made by Lanza....these are the only two brands I will put in my hair now.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

It's in good company

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

I have the same problem, you need some silk therapy. you can get it at any beauty supply. aphogee is the best brand, I think.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

cut it...its too long...in this case..your hair shouldn't be any longer than your shoulders

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

Why dont you just get it cut like really short like the punker chicks have it I guarantee it will be much more managable! Or if you dont wana do that then just go to your stylist shell know what to do

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

Yeaa...that happens to mine.

Except my hair is strait, thick, and long.

I use a detangler.

Some times it doesn't seem to work.

So i use the detangler on wet hair.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

I think you should put baby powder in your hair. Put alot in you hair and brush it through. I know it sounds weird, but I put it in my hair every day. Cant hurt to try.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

You need to add some mousse before you blow-dry it straight. That will help tame it.

I know exactly what you are going through. My hair is so straight it won't hold a freakin' style...not even a straight one!

I use mousse to start. Then after it is styled I use a pomade to separate and shape it a bit.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

use blue magic hair grease.smooth it thrugh the ends and back and bottoms of your hair. use a spray glosser.dont NOT use a brush.use a wide tooth comb.do not tug your hair. work the comb from the ends of hair and up till yu can comb thrugh thoroughly.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

Stop using so many treatments on your hair. This should be your hair routine:

Monday: Shampoo and condition with Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight (HEDS)

Tuesday: Condition with HEDS

Wednesday: Shampoo and condition with HEDS

Thursday: Condition with HEDS

Friday: Shampoo and condition with HEDS. Use a hot oil treatment.

Saturday: Condition with HEDS

Sunday: Just rinse your hair with water. If you have $$$, use bottled water. Use leave-in conditioner from Herbal Essences.

Only straighten your hair maximum once a week. It's really bad for your hair. Blow drying is even worse for your hair.

Use a hot oil treatment only once a week. It's good for your hair, but too much can be damaging.

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

I have the same hair, also the type doesn't matter if I curl or what it just falls out back to stick straight an hour later.

I used to over condition, and found out it's actually better to use a smaller amount. I also just bought this Dove product called 'straight%26amp; soft" that after I comb out my hair, use a wide tooth comb to comb out, then put I dab a little of that and have no flyaways!!! I usually don't blowdry because that seems to make them worse. Also, if you can keep a shorter bob type hair style I find mine looks a lot less stringy when I keep it a bit shorter. (kinda like my avatar)

Tangley Strait Hair. My hair hates me!!!!?

me 2 hun!!

herbal essence body envy shampoo and conditioner then after your shower dry your hair and you Garnier Fructis XXXl volume moose and blow dry your hair up-side down.

DRIED, FRIED, BLEACHED HAIR! Will Biolustre be my miracle cure?!?

Well, starting from the root to about 3 or 4 inches down the hair isn't so bad, it's after that where the ends are dried fried and bleached to a crisp! I just had the highlighting job done yesterday and I refuse to wash my hair for at least 4 more days so the natural oils can return and do their much needed job on my dried out locks! :( I have read all about this biolustre product, www.biolustre.com and as much as it sounds too good to be true, go ahead and believe I ordered me a kit! It's on a good sale for about 50 bucks right now, so I figured it's worth a shot! Has anyone used this product? I've had my hair fried before about 2 years ago from yet another jacked up highlighting job and lots of deep conditioning treatments at home helped revive it and bring it back to it's natural state. So once again, ANYONE TRIED BIOLUSTRE? Any stories about how it revived your locks? Please, do tell!! Thanks! :)

DRIED, FRIED, BLEACHED HAIR! Will Biolustre be my miracle cure?!?

hi,

I use biolustreflorida.com and love it!! thats were i purchase it for $50.00 i dont know the website you said, it has it for 79.0, anyway. i turned my hair olive green and it was breaking and i started using biolustreflorida.com stuff and what a difference. but you have to use it a couple of times, i color my hair every 3 weeks well roots, but anway, my hair has NO splitsends, i love the stuff. i do a instant treatment the day before my hair appointment and then 3-4 days after. all my girlfriends use it too. give it a try, and remember to use it more than once if you hair is really really bad! ggood luck to ya.

DRIED, FRIED, BLEACHED HAIR! Will Biolustre be my miracle cure?!?

There is no miracle to bring your hair back to life once the ends are dead. This product is a scam. It didn't work for me. Report It

DRIED, FRIED, BLEACHED HAIR! Will Biolustre be my miracle cure?!?

Call the salon and get a refund! That will help pay for this miracle product you are talking about. Good luck! I got a bad perm once and put mayonnaise on it to try to moisturize it, it was soooo fried. Anyway, I ended up cutting off the damage and had a silly mullet cut for a while, luckily they were in style back in the 80's. I learned a valuable lesson, never let a friend perm my hair! ;)

DRIED, FRIED, BLEACHED HAIR! Will Biolustre be my miracle cure?!?

unfortunatley once its fried its dead the only thing that will save it is cutting it off, we hairstylist call it fried, died and laid to the side. hence lay to the side. sorry i have yet to hear anything that actually restores fried hair it may coat it and it seems better ehile its on but once rinsed off there is no difference, sorry!!

DRIED, FRIED, BLEACHED HAIR! Will Biolustre be my miracle cure?!?

It's a lost cause. I can tell you this from personal experience. No product will help. Your best bet is to cut your hair and grow it out, and never touch dye again. That's what I am doing. You're wasting your money--nothing will fix damaged hair. Hair is dead, it does not regenerate.

DRIED, FRIED, BLEACHED HAIR! Will Biolustre be my miracle cure?!?

Unfortunately, once the damage is done, no product will cure your fried hair. You may find something that makes it look healthier, but don't waste your money on a product that claims to repair it. The best thing to do is get a good haircut, cut off as much of the damage as you can and start new.

As far as conditioning treatments go, my personal favorite is K-Pak by Joico. They have a whole line, you choose if it's a leave in, or something you rinse out in the shower.

I've worked as a hairstylist in a few salons, and through all of the products I've used on my clients, K-Pak has had the best feedback.

How can I can brassy (golden yellow) tones in my dark blonde hair?

I have dark blonde hair with subtle highlights. It looks best as a cool ash tone. It's been getting brassy lately, taking on an ugly yellowish-gold tone. I'd like to use something to cancel out these tones, but I'm yet to find a product that works. Over the years, I've used such products to combat this problem as Aveda's Blue Malva Shampoo and Conditioner, Bumble and Bumble's Cool Blonde and Cool Brunette Color Support Shampoo and Conditioner, Clairol Shimmer Lights, Goldwell's Live Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner, KMS ColorVitality Blonde, and Artec Color Deposit White Violet Shampoo and Conditioner all to no avail. I've followed the directions perfectly and they still have not worked. I realize I must sound crazy in remembering each product I used. I cannot afford the hairdresser right now and I don't want to go monotone and eliminate my highlights; I want to cancel the brassyness. Does anyone know of home color treatments to combat this brassiness problem in dark blonde hair?

How can I can brassy (golden yellow) tones in my dark blonde hair?

You don't sound crazy. As a dark blonde / with natural highlights myself I understand the brassyness.

Question, do you swim in pools? That really can contribute to it. Also do you use well water in your home / to shower? Water high in iron can contribute to this. If you own your home, do you have a water softener? That can help reduce the harshness of the water. I suggest you find a shampoo that reduces the iron deposits in your hair, like a violet based shampoo that can counteract the brassyness. Unfortunately I do not have any specific products to recommend.

I also suggest (not sure if you do it), but try not to blow dry your hair too much. That really dries it out, and combined with the hair treatments, can make your hair more porous to take in iron and other deposits. If you do dry your hair use a lower temperature and a diffuser. Keep your hair well moisturized.

I also believe that what you eat contributes, so I suggest you get your vitamins every day and take fish oil (omega three/six/nine oils). I have been doing this for three years and everyone tells me my hair is soooo shiny and healthy.

How can I can brassy (golden yellow) tones in my dark blonde hair?

Go to a beauty supply and get a violet filler. It is very cheap and works for me.Never get a hair color with out a violet base to it. Any other bass will either turn it brassy or grey looking. Hope this helps.

How can I can brassy (golden yellow) tones in my dark blonde hair?

I have the same problem and what I do is I highlight and lowlight my hair; the lowlights actually make the rest of my hair look brighter, without making my hair look brassy. And then to keep the color I use products that are made for blondes such as Pantene Blonde Expressions, John Frieda Sheer Blonde, or Sunsilk Blonde.

Good healthy hair starts with good internal health. Have you ever noticed people that look really healthy have nice shiny full heads of hair? If I were you I would go into your local guru in wholistic medicine and see what natural supplement the can offer for robust hair growth. I閳ユ獫e had success with a product called Provillus also.

Hair Falling out!! Thinning %26amp; Hair Loss?

Steps You can take to avoid hair loss:-

Wash your hair regularly in warm water and use a deep conditioner.

Eat a balanced diet. Nutritional deficiencies, eating disorders and excessive amounts of certain vitamins, such as A and E, can cause hair loss.

Take care of your health. Chronic illness, high fevers and infections can contribute to hair loss.

Stay away from harsh chemicals - permanent hair color and perms are the most damaging - and avoid coloring your hair more than once every six to eight weeks.

Avoid hairstyles like ponytails and cornrows, which stretch and pull hair.

Keep in mind that it's normal to lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day.

Consult your general physician or dermatologist regarding concerns about hair loss.

Curly hair gone straight??

HI,

I recently over-processed my hair (bleached, colored, bleached, colored....) and my naturally thick curly hair suddenly went very limp and barely wavy. How do I get my hair to curl again? Is it a question of waiting and applying deep conditioning treatments every week? Someone suggested it's weighted down by the color and I need to bleach it again (although logically that would only damage my hair more). So what do I do to get my beloved curls back??

Curly hair gone straight??

Well the best thing you can do is grow it out.

Dont bother trying to color it or anything again, your hair will be the same as it was before all the coloring and bleaching if you grow it out. =]

Curly hair gone straight??

You've basically ****** your chances.

*Being brutally honest*

You bleached it more then once!?

Are you joking me!?

BLEACHING IS THE WORST POSSIBLE THING.

IT MAKES IT DRY AND LIMB AND CRAPPY.

Stop it all together, bleach is incredibly bad.

Condition it alot, maybe have your hair stripped.

Bad choice!!

Curly hair gone straight??

use a curling iron every day and it will probably stay after a while that is what i do. i did that to (bleach etc.)

Curly hair gone straight??

umm mine friend just done curly hair and the hairstylist told her that if u have curly hair wash on alternate days..soo that ur hair can be maintened and not soo dry..i tht u shld go for hair treatment and also consult the hairstylist hw to regain ur hair..u can try sg website at 88db..they gt few recommended hairstylist...beside u can also do hair mask for ur hair..and rm one thing...wash ur hair with warm water and then aft using conditioner wash with cold water...:)

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

I have a history of alopecia...but my hair has been growing back( because of scalp stimulating treatments) and I would like it to stay that way. Please help.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Well other than what you already know you can try gelatin powder a form of protein if you will that is said to grow nails fast and as you guessed hair. Also msm wouldn't hurt, it is also good for arthritis if you have. Another good thing for hair growth is keeping the hair you got on your head. If your hair keep breaking off than you will never have long hair, so try low maintainace styles. Eat plenty of sulfur rich foods, this is good for the hair and also get enough b vitamin and zinc.

Hope this helps a bit.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Prenatal pills won't help yur hair grow any faster, but may help it become healthier as it grows out.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

put them gel every day in the way you want

hope it helps!!!

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

I think it's more the actual being pregnant than the prenatal vitamans. Since hormones are all over the place. And it depends on you personally. My hair didn't grow longer or thicker when I was preggers, it seemed to fall out more.

Have you tried wigs? I know some people think it's terrible or whatever, but think of the many options and how much fun you could have with wigs. =) Or extentions? I would love some extensions.. super fun!

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

i dont know about prenatal. i cut mine every 6-8 months for locks of love. it's the protein in a diet such eggs peanut butter.high protein diet it works for me the rest of my family cant grow hair like that.but they dont eat like i do either.they live on junk food and fast food

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

I am actually trying to conceive a baby (have been trying for 3 years) and I take prenatals. I think it does help my hair to grow faster. It isn't like you will see it happen over night but it is helping. I guess it probably depends on the person and how they react to that vitamin but it works for me. my hair is also thicker and healthier. I take 2 prenatals a day. I know nothing about MSM pills though because I am limited on what I can take for medications.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Prenatal vitamins are a hot topic these days. Everyone is touting the benefits of using them prior to getting pregnant to help prevent certain birth defects and continuing them during pregnancy and breastfeeding for continued protection from nutrition deficiencies. However, despite all of the attention these little pills get there are a lot of fallacies as well.

This is false because the goal of prenatal vitamins is to supplement your diet not to replace it. In fact, prenatal vitamins work better when you are eating a healthy diet that includes a variety of foods. There are also known deficiencies in prenatal vitamins, for example calcium. The levels of calcium in the average prenatal vitamin is 250 mg.

A pregnant woman needs about 1,200 - 1,500 mg of calcium daily to help her and the baby adequately grow.

I want to grow my hair superlong!!! I heard MSM pills and prenatals work wonders...?

Try horsetail in a pill form

Overprocessed hair...red to blonde..?

My hair is overprocessed and I'm keeping up with treatments and conditioners, sometimes even daily. I color my hair lots and I had it platinum blonde in July...and ever since my hair has had trouble holding on to dye obviously...but it's getting a lot better.

I had it light reddish brown recently , but then put on "intense dark red blonde" with a 20 vol...and it came out a bit patchy and darker in some spots and has already faded within 5 days a lot.

If I wanted to go a dark honey blonde should I use a color stripper or bleach? I really don't want to use bleach because I don't want a light blonde at all...and my hair is at a 5/6 level

The hair I want is like:

http://www.bostonhaircolorist.com/rachel...

She had a bright blonde color before though.

I know my hair is very damaged, but I'm not even sure this color would look good on me. I'm pale, cool-toned and have gray eyes...what do you think?

Thanks for any help

Overprocessed hair...red to blonde..?

wow...are you trying to kill your hair??? lol... I used to do the same thing.

What you really need to do is get a warmer, if not darker, color and apply that. It will condition your hair and help repair some of the damage. Don't expect any miracles, but it will help. To help keep your color from fading so quickly, here are a few tips.

1 - Don't wash it every day. I know that sounds gross, but it's necessary.

2 - Buy a gloss in the shade you color it. Use it about three times a week. It doesn't smell that great, but it works. Just make sure you don't leave it on too long, and be prepared to use alot of hot water in the shower.

3 - Don't be cheap when you buy shampoo/conditioner. Use the kind that is for your color (john frieda brands, i.e. red, blonde, brown, whatever) and be sure to use those styling products as well. It hurts your pocketbook, but think of it this way.... how much are wigs, and how long would you have to wear one when all of your hair breaks off?

Girls think it won't happen, but it can. I've seen it more than once; I dyed mine back to it's natural color and had the lighter ends trimmed off several times...because even if you do all of these things, your hair is still going to fade to some degree. I don't recommend EVER bleaching at home EVER again. If you decide to lighten the color again, go to a professional, and make sure you ask to see a portfolio.

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it

If you are comfortable with it, just shave it off so you are not day by day losing the hair and feeling emotional pain each day it happens. You are in my thoughts!

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

this chick that hosts a local cable show underwent chemo for breast cancer (she was young...early 30's I think, if that). She did a documentary for local PBS showing, as she went to her first appt, etc. and she was thinking she'd keep her hair "as long as possible". Well, it wasnt possible, so she shaved it off (on camera) and was fitted for a wig that very same instant--the wig looked like her own hair and nobody really could tell (other than us who watched the documentary)

So I say shave it. Go for it. Go bald, be proud. Get a wig or just a bunch of cool hats.

PS--her hair is growing back, but she still wears the wig on camera as it's not quite there yet.

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

take control of at least something thats happening to you shave it off

Good luck I hope you will be well soon

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

Not all forms of chemo make your hair fall out. If it starts thinning, or falling out in clumps, then go for the shave, or a stunning hat or turban.

Good luck.

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

both of my aunts had chemo and they both shaved it off, it's too painful to let it go a little at a time, best of luck to you and god bless

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

My friend let hers fall out, then shaved it when it got kind of "patchy." BTW, she's doing well now, done with chemo and radiation. Her hair's growing back. Peace and blessings to you.

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

I would shave it off. I have been in the same boat. Twice. The first time I let it all fall out. The second I shaved it. I found shaving it easier as it got it over with. I wore baseball caps and doo rags. Best of Luck! Don't give up the fight!!

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

my lil u had to have cemo i think u should shave it off cuz it would make a mess in ur bed when ur sleeping

godblass get well soon

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

I don't know but my aunt is on to her fourth treatment and her hair has just thinned out a bit so it might depend. Wait and see how you go, perhaps, 'cos everyone sems to be different.

Good luck.

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

Go for it and shave it off yourself. My best friend is going through chemo therapy, (and BTW I am so sorry to hear that, you will get better!!!!) and she said, I would much rather have control over that.....I am not "giving" cancer ANYTHING"!!!!

And she looks fabulous!!!! Very exotic. I never knew how beautiful and graceful her features are.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Good luck in the New Year!!!

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

Shave it, then it won't be so tramatizing to see your hair fall out slowly. Thats what my neighbor did and now shes done chemo and her hair is growing back perfectly into cute curls =) Good luck

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

it depends on if it falls off in patches or not. If it does fall off in patches then it only make sense to cut it. If you are going to wear a wig during the process then if doesn't really matter.

My mom cut her's short and wore a wig. Her hair did get thin but since it was short it didn't look that bad. When it's long and thinning then it look like you need Rogaine or are going through a crisis. Yes this will be a change for you but Wigs can be fun. I wear wiga all the time and I have bra length hair. It's your choice but try on some wigs to see if you like it, they can be fun. Right now I am wearing what I call my holiday har, lol. It's a curly wig, lol.

So see how your hair reacts to the chemo first and then decide. Good Luck, One Love.

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

I would play around w/ it. Cut a little off at a time.

I'm about to start chemo treatments am I better off letting my hair fall out or just shaving it off?

I am very sorry that you have to undergo treatment like that. I think that shaving it might be in your best interest. It wouldnt be gradual, you would get it all over with at once. Then you can go buy some funky cool wigs if you'd like.

Best of luck and a speedy recovery. You'll be in my prayers.

Hair Fallen out?

At night i sleep with a satin scarf but it seems to come off so some nights i dont even bother puttin it in. I sleep on my back so like the back of my hair is rubbing out. I cant help that i sleep on my back and i tie my scarf tight. Does anyone know treatments or something i can do the stop this and make my hair grow back. Its all matted up in the back in one spot,

Hair Fallen out?

Try securing it with bobbie pins or some other clips. If that doesn't work then just wear a small cap over the silk scarf.

If you didn't notice any lost hair on your pillow then your hair isn't falling out. It looks like there's less of it because your hair is matted. To solve this...just wash it. If you put products in it, they'll just stiffen up the hair and make the matted area look worse.

Hair Fallen out?

There is Rogaine for women sold over the counter, and it does seem to help with hair regrowth and preventing the loss of hair. It could also be a vitamin deficiency. See your doctor about this.

Hair Fallen out?

Your problem may be deeper than your sleeping habits. I suspect if your hair and scalp are healthy, you wouldn't have the problem. Please review your dietary habits and hair products with a reputable cosmotoligist and/or your doctor.

Hair Fallen out?

You should probably buy a satin pillow cover if you don't want to wear your scarf and it falls off. As far as treatments, tea-tree oil seems to work well. So does carrot oil, which I personally prefer. You could try buying some carrot oil conditioner and doing some leave in treatments to soften up the matted hair. To keep it from matting, after you wash, condition and dry, use some of the conditoner in the back and then blow your hair out with a ceramic blow dryer. This keeps the moisture in, helps protect from heat damage, and keeps my hair straight and prevents matting. For extra protection, also use a heat protecting lotion or spray. Make sure you are greasing and keeping your hair and scalp moisturized. This should also help. Any more questions, e-mail me. angelic_bleeding@yahoo.com

Hair Fallen out?

I have fairly long hair and it all ways wasn't that way. I use do grow grease,m I also use the whole collection. Also don't use a lot of products in your hair that slows down growth. Wash every 2 weeks.

Hair Fallen out?

well if your wearing a scarf in your hair, stop doing it, your not really supposed to wear your hair up when you go to sleep you know, especially if you wear your hair tight, wear it loosely......sorry this is the only answer i can give you

Help with my curly hair?

I have shoulder length, really curly and thick, frizz-prone hair and i can't stand it! No I won't straighten it everyday or get a chemical straightening, so please don't suggest that. I wash it every other day with this organic shampoo and conditioner, comb it, put in Keratin Protein Leave In Treatment (it's a spray), and then scrunch it with gel. Usually by the middle of the day, it gets big and really frizzy. And solutions?? Some styles would be great if possible too.

Help with my curly hair?

Lol i have that same problem .. so when i get up in the morning i shower then get dressed then while my hair is still wet i use tresemme moose, which usually keeps it down very nicely.. and also so my curled bangs aren't in my face, i pull them back with a clip thing and then put a lil moose on top so it stay down =) trust me it works

Help with my curly hair?

:)) I'm glad you don't wanna relax it! it may sound weird, but I don't comb my hair every time I wash it because for me that makes it frizzier. I use John Frieda frizz-ease hair serum extra strength and a curly-hair mousse.

Help with my curly hair?

Go to a hair salon. They can tell you which shampoo and conditioner or whatever is best for your-like hair.

Do "hair thickeners" actually thicken your hair?

...or do they just add volume?

If they do thicken then what are some good thickener treatments/products to use on a lot of thin blond hair?

Thanks!

Do "hair thickeners" actually thicken your hair?

Personally i would love to have thn hair.

You can buy a range of shampoos and conditioners to increase the volume and make your hair appear thicker i cant reccomend a good product cause everyones hair is different so you would have to try different brands out for yourself and yes they actually do work but you have to find one that you like..

Will advantage work if I didn't part the hair?

I am sorry about this, but I am very new to the entire dog community. This is my first ever dog that I have had in my own home and I didn't know that you had to part the hair when you put advantage on the dog. Will this make a huge difference in the flea treatment process? Please be serious with your responces because I love my dog with all my life, but I feel like I just messed up badly.

Will advantage work if I didn't part the hair?

Its not the end of the world, how much of a problem it is depends on the kind of fur your dog has and how long it is. Advantage isn't a treatment its a prevention, if your dog has fleas you need something else, if your dog doesn't have fleas the advantage might still prevent them but not as well or for as long, take your dog to your vet and ask them for advise they should know what to do

Will advantage work if I didn't part the hair?

As long as it got down to the skin, it should be fine.

Will advantage work if I didn't part the hair?

It will seep down through the coat. You are okay. I have used Frontline and Advantage. They both work well. Don't worry about not parting the hair...you did fine.

Will advantage work if I didn't part the hair?

short and sweet u did exilent they say acuttly not to cause it does not go done into the fur good enough

Will advantage work if I didn't part the hair?

it is important to get it on the skin. if it is only on the hair, it will not work very well. it is also best to put it on the back of the head b/c they can't reach there. if it is lick off, it will make the dog very ill. hope this helps:)

Will advantage work if I didn't part the hair?

advantage doesn't work

frontline does

What is the difference between hair conditioner and hair treatment?///?

hair conditioner is for every day use- a small amount for about 2 minutes- hair traetment is used about once a week or every two weeks or once a month or whenever u need it- u should leave it in for at least 15 minutes. I sleep with it on, in a hat- and then wash it out in the morning- it makes my hair really great!!

What is the difference between hair conditioner and hair treatment?///?

Hair conditioner is part of ones daily routine after shampooing. Leave in hair for 3-5 minutes to achieve maximum results then rinse well. It leaves your hair really soft and manageable. It is safe for daily use. Hair treatment is usually done at the beauty salon as solutions for specific hair problems or just plain enhancing the hair's condition, color, etc.

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

I am thinking of getting this done for the area above my lip. I am very self conscious about it, although my husband and others say it is not noticable. (probably because I am a fanatic about plucking, waxing and bleaching it!)

I went to the consultation and was told that I couldn't do anything to the area for at least 4 weeks before the treatments...and it usually takes about 3 -4 treatments. On top of that, the nurse said the area would have to be shaved before the treatments. (She said that I could shave the area myself in place of plucking or waxing...) I don't want to make it any worse by having stubble! But she said with the treatments it kills the growth of the hairs so there would eventually by no more folicles left.

Has anyone had this procedure done? I want to know if it will work before I go through all of that....not to mention the expense!

Please let me know if you have any advice on this.

Thank you!!

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

I'm thinking about having it done to my bikini area and under arms.. Like you, I'm a little bit nervous about getting it done in a really prominent plave like my face before I see what the results are like on ME!

My Grandma had it done on her top lip and they told her it would take a couple of treatments, but nothing grew back after the first one so she never went back! I find that kinda encouraging! lol

I have an app. booked for this Friday for a consult. but to be honest with you, I haven't ever heard that you need to 'shave' the area.. My beauty therapist did tell me (with my bikini line) that I had to stop waxing and let the hair grow back to get it done.

Anyhoo... Good luck! Maybe I can let you know how I go on Friday..!

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

i heard that they can cause permanent damage to ur skin if u dont get good and skillful treatment.

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

my sister had this done to her upper lip

she said it felt like someone popping you with a rubber band over and over

so its not really bad but like a slight sting

also when you go in the first thing they do is shave it then they zap the root of the hair with a laser killing it

depending how much they do in one session determines how many more you need to go to

my sis is a wimp and it has taken her 5 sessions

it cost a lot of money

so if you have enough to pay for it now i say do it

but if not stick to waxing and bleaching

i promise no one notices it =)

i think it was crazy to spend that much money on a little hair

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

I have had it done on my legs. It is amazing and works really really well. It does hurt though, but it is completly worth it. There is also a numbing cream you can put on before hand. The thing is, the hair must be dark enough for the lazer to work. So if the hair above your lip is barly noticable, then it might not. But if it's a good laser place they will tell you whether or not the procedure can be done. It is a really good treatment though. It is painful, but plucking and waxing hurts more in my opinion and plus when it's over you never have to worry about it ever again. And bleaching isn't good for your skin anyway, so this is probably better.

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

I havnt had it done but Im thinking of getting it done too, i saw on a program though theres a chance it may not kill the growth of all the hairs, but best results are on people with light skin and dark hairs. But I didnt know though that they shave the area b4, Ive never shaved, just wax or bleach.

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

I did my bikini area a couple years back. I love it! A few sites that were indispensable when I was looking into it were

www.hairtell.com and www.hairfacts.com. Hairtell was my favorite. It is full of actual experiences of people instead of vague facts.

I did have to shave before treatments and wasn't allowed to wax during the treatments. Total treatment took about 7 months and 4 visits.

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

My wife had the procedure, and here's what she says: She used sona, and had a horrible experience. They say light skinned and dark hair has the best chance for hair growth to cease. She is light skinned and dark haired and is on her 7th treatment. They say when you wax or pluck that your chance for the hair to come back is more likely, you've already been bothering the root which is what the lazer affects. Also you won't be able to pluck or wax during these treatments YES TREATMENTS!! Which are painful, it's like taking a very HOT rubberband and smacking your skin with it over and over. The smaller areas, like the upper lip are quick and not as painful. Usually less than 10 lazer pulses are needed for the upper lip. There is so much more information, but don't forget whoever you go through, they will tell you whatever it takes to get you to be a client.

Laser light hair removal, any thoughts? Pros vs. Cons?

Here is a link to an informative article about a womans laser hair removal experience, I think you will find this useful in answering your question. ENJOY!

I had facial LHR & I feel like my face is breaking out much more since the treatment started. Is

After having 5 laser hair removal on my face, they're some areas on my face where I break out a lot %26amp; it's painful. I've always have acne problems but I feel like it got worst since I'm having my treatment done. Does anybody else have the same problem ? What could I do to ease the acne please ? Thank you very much for all your answers

I had facial LHR %26amp; I feel like my face is breaking out much more since the treatment started. Is that normal ?

This should be temporary, but I know a good product that could help you ease these problems... It's called Acnope and you can find it here: http://acnope.com/?zokiy

Thats great natural cream that really works. It has Aloe Vera in it which will ease the pain and help your skin to regenerate faster. It will greatly help with the acne problems you have...

Wish you all the best of luck!

I had facial LHR %26amp; I feel like my face is breaking out much more since the treatment started. Is that normal ?

It's a temporary situation from the toxins stirred up by the treatments.

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

I have natural black hair, how ever it isn't curly, and the only time it waves (very slightly) is if I brush my hair back wet and let it sit. I didn't want to go back to relaxers, and i have tried a texturizer, which didn't do to much. I also have split ends and use hot oil treatments for the condition. i feel as if there is no way to style my hair besides straightening it. i am currntly 16 and i had a relaxer from 8 to 15 years old. I don't know what to do!!!! * i live in st. louis and i DO NOT want to use weave*

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

I don't quite understand what your question is, but go to a hairdresser in the hood who specializes in black hair and get those dead ends trimmed.

Tell her what your goal is, and she will work with you.

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

I am also 16 and have mid-long jet black hair, i do many hairstyles with it, heres my favorite: (my be confusing, sawy)

*Take a shower

*having ur hair drenching to towel dry wet

*Fill it up with massive gel

* (optional) sum mousse 2

* and take ur hands and scrunch ur hair up

* Spray generally all ur hair and Roots

* Scrunching hair, set it on floor( or whereever)

*Blowdry on High and wait till completely dry

* Turn over and Spray with Hair Spry for lasting results

-it should look waving and a bit curly and wet

-as for the spilt end trim 1/2 inch of ur hair

...gud luck...tell me how it goes.

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

You might NOT want to hear this but the best thing to do is start off by having your split ends trimmed. You don't need to do the weave thing like everybody else. If you don't know what product to use, don't worry, I know there are lots out there. You can simply start treating at home using simple and costless home remedies.

The most important thing is to keep your scalp oiled. Every night take time to part it, oil it with virgin olive oil, or pure vitamin E gel capsules. Break the capsule and squeeze it down the parted sections of your scalp, or buy it in a bottle.

Course textured hair is usually very dry. You must keep it conditioned. You can continue to do the hot oil treatments but use virgin olive oil instead. Your hair needs plenty of moisture. That's the key.

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

Go to a hairdresser who handles natural hair. She will trim your hair regularly for split ends. In the meantime, the hot oil treatments should help. Since you had relaxers for awhile, it will take a little time to get your hair healthy again. Have you tried flat ironing your hair? No chemicals involved, you just have to watch the heat. A good hairdresser should be able to help you find options.

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

first of all get yr dead ends trimmed and not only that get a new fresh haircut which would give yu a totally fresh and light feeling and look.

secondly yu can ask yr hairdresser to give yu tips on dressing yr hair in different styles.

blow dry yr hair LIGHTLY aftre a shower or give it a little scrunge with a mousse or wet look gel ..

yu can get highlights or lowlights to enhance yr look.

i hope some of it is helpful!

and remember black hair are beautiful more than streaked hair... i experienced it!

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

use products tht will protect ur hair 4m thermal styling, such as leave-in conditioner n thermal stylin spray. wen u start 2 style ur hair make sure tht ur dryer/iron r always moving coz concentratin em on one spot 4 too long may cause damage.

get 2 a stylist, u may already hve one who specailizes or has experienced wid ur textured hair n hve da ends trimmed this is one sign of too high a heat setting. the ends r da 1st area 2 becum damaged . hot oil treatments r da best 4 such hair so keep up the practice.

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

If you don't wanna do any of those things you gotta go COMPLETLY natural. A TEX IS NOT NATURAL. If you want more details or want me to explain anymore than you have to email me the details.... I need to know more about your hair...... And the I could try and give you some styles.

Who knows how to deal with black hair?

I suggest that you go to a professional salon that deals with natural black hair (do let them trim your ends). They will probably suggest braids %26amp; other natural styles and give you pointers on how to style your hair without using harsh chemicals. Here is a site on natural Black hair care: http://www.naturalblackhaircare.com/

http://www.blackfolkshair.com/ - site to locate salons for Black hair.

Not putting a relaxer in your hair is a good choice. They can be damaging in the long run (cause breakage, etc.), unless you can afford to have it professionally maintained (every two weeks). I am trying to transition my hair from relaxed to natural (it is thick and naturally wavy). I sometimes wish I had never used relaxers in the first place - so I applaud your choice to care for your hair naturally!

Best wishes!

Just for Me's 'Texture Softener' for children with natural hair- how does it work?

Recently, a friend of mine suggested I put the 'softener' in my daughter's hair to eliminate the fuzzies and allow her to wear her hair down without getting too tangled. She said that it isn't a relaxer or even a lot of chemicals, and is perfect for my daughter because it is basically a deep conditioner. I checked it out at the beauty supply and the 'treatment' lasts for 12 weeks, and then needs to be touched up. Doesn't that mean that her hair won't actually be natural anymore if the product alters it's original state? Or is it truly a deep conditioning product that would benefit us?

Just for Me's 'Texture Softener' for children with natural hair- how does it work?

It's true that this product has a chemical that alters the current state of your childs hair texture. It will make the curl looser. Once you use this product your daughter will not have a natural hair texture unless you cut off the hair that is chemically treated and let her natural hair grow out again. Remember that a conditioner by itself cannot permantly alter a hair texture. (They're really just pushing a product on you).

How can I get my hair to recover?

I'm African American (I'm gonna say that first and foremost 'cause that makes a huge difference) and my hair is wavy but thin, especially around the front and it's getting to the point where I can't put my hair in certain styles. I think it became thin because I always use to put my hair in tight ponytails but I'm slowly but surely getting away from that. Anyway, how can I make it thick again? I was told to use this treatment called fermodyl but it hasn't been working. Does anyone else have any ideas?

How can I get my hair to recover?

you should deep condition you hair twice a week with doo gro deep condtioner. it helps to revitilize and repair the hair. you should also use the anti-thinning shampoo it help the thicken the hair and to stop the thinning.also the antibreakage hair lotion, revitilizer grease and oils. also try protectiv they all work. you can find them at any black hair care stores because regular stores do not carry the whole line.

How can I get my hair to recover?

African American hair is wiry and thin. It is rarely thick. The three main areas of hair are the inner Modula, the middle Cortex and the outter Cuticle. To make hair thicker, you would have to change the structure of the Cortex which is impossible. It is genetic. That being said, the Cortex is made up of 9 amino acids in which 2 of them, your body can not produce, it must get from diet. Amino Acids are a protein so what's that mean? Make sure you eat enough protein. It is the building block of strength for your entire body. Your body can not produce protein, it must get it from food sources. Hair breaking (which is what you experienced pulling your hair back) can be strengthened with moisture. So make sure that your shampoo and conditioner are MOISTURE rich, especially for AA hair. It lacks moisture to begin with because the Cortex can not hold as much as coarse hair. Bottom line: use moisture shampoos and conditioners to help prevent breakage, eat a diet rich in healthy proteins and healthy fats (for added moisture) such as olive oil, nuts, peanut butter (natural kind), avocados, yogurt. And thirdly, you can't change the structure so anyone that tells you that you can, is lying and misinformed. Moisture prevents breakage.

How can I get my hair to recover?

i would reconmmend using do grow products use mega thick conditoner and shampoo and grease my bestfriend has thin hair and hair is really thick and healthy and i also use it for dry hair it should be located at your nearst beauty supply

Alopecia areata (al-oh-PEE-shah air-ee-AH-tah) is a highly unpredictable, autoimmune skin disease resulting in the loss of hair on the scalp and elsewhere on the body. This common but very challenging and capricious disease affects approximately 1.7 percent of the population overall, including more than 5 million people in the United States alone. Due to the fact that much of the public is still not familiar with alopecia areata, the disease can have a profound impact on one's life and functional status, both at work and at school.

In alopecia areata, the affected hair follicles are mistakenly attacked by a person's own immune system (white blood cells), resulting in the arrest of the hair growth stage. Alopecia areata usually starts with one or more small, round, smooth bald patches on the scalp and can progress to total scalp hair loss (alopecia totalis) or complete body hair loss (alopecia universalis).

Alopecia areata occurs in males and females of all ages and races; however, onset most often begins in childhood and can be psychologically devastating. Although not life-threatening, alopecia areata is most certainly life-altering, and its sudden onset, recurrent episodes, and unpredictable course have a profound psychological impact on the lives of those disrupted by this disease. Our Mission

The mission of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) is to support research to find a cure or acceptable treatment for alopecia areata, to support those with the disease, and to educate the public about alopecia areata.

The mission is accomplished by:

Funding research and research workshops that add to the scientific knowledge about alopecia areata, its causes, and different treatments

Providing local support and education for people with alopecia areata and their families

Informing the public about alopecia areata

Advocating the concerns of people affected alopecia areata

Creating and distributing educational materials to health professionals as well as those affected, so that all may better understand alopecia areata

The National Health Council reports that the National Alopecia Areata Foundation is in full compliance with all 48 of its good operating practices standards.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

I have fine, curly hair..but it gets so dry because i have to wash it a lot, and i also have highlights. I hate using chemical treatments..and i sometimes think all these organic hair products are not much better then commercial brands because they still contain a list of hair-stripping chemicals...at 5 times the price! I want a nice natural way of keeping it in good, soft condition please!

Hi i recently discover Lush my hair is the same as yours, and i couldnt find anything until i discovered this company, its doesnt test its products on animals and is chemical free, and all natural, Not like the ones that claim to be all natural. I use retread conditioner and rehab shampoo, its really good and you can notice the difference straight way. They also do hair moisturisers that you put on dry hair. I would have a look on there website. But i assure you they may look a bit pricey to you or not but they are worth the money.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

when you blow-dry your hair it burns it and takes away the moisture. if you brush it al lot it spreads out the moisture. if you have to blowdry your hair do it with a cold blow dryer

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

I've bleached my hair before, and it turned out almost white so I know what you mean. I have my own system: on dry hair I spray Pantene leave in treatment all over my hair so it's slightly damp. Then I work one pump of Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum throughout all my hair. THEN I work about 10 drops of this really great stuff called Wild Growth Oil throug my hair. I comb it all through with a fine tooth tomb. My hair has never felt or looked better.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

shave it all off

Please, you don't like chemicals but you have highlights...

Try either buying a spray on leave in conditioner,Biolage works daily leave in tonic,or Instacure made by Matrix,if not these get a water bottle put about 1/4 hair conditioner in then the rest water. Shake up and spray on everyday, try every other day.But make sure it is a professional product they do make a difference. If you have a Great Clips go there and get a daily leave in ,or a Great Clips conditioner to add to your water bottle. These products are not too expensive but they are also made by Matrix, and they guarantee that you will like them!!!!

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Drink more water and a good diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Water ! Then it would be wet hair

Seriously though. there have been studies done that say that if you stop using soaps and chemicals and just wash your hair with water then eventually the oils in your scalp balance out and you don't get greasy/dry hair at all.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

olive oil, i use to work in a hairdressers salon and had loads of girls asking me about the same problem. Very slightly heat up Olive Oil and Almond oil and massage it into your hair. Wrap in a towel and leave till morning. When you wake up wash your hair as normal and use conditioner too. Do this twice a week.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Get yourself some BORAX from the chemist. This was used in the olden days for all sorts of things, I think mainly washing clothes, as it is kind and makes things really really soft. Years ago, I used to put so much hairspray on that no matter how much I washed it I still had the feeling of hairspray in my hair, until one day my nan told me to use BORAX, its only cheap from the chemist and is really good. I started using it, and I didn't mind using hairspray after that, because the Borax always washed it out.

So try the following:

Lather your hair up with your shampoo, then add some BORAX to the top of your head. It will probably kill the bubbles in your shampoo, so just try and massage it into your scalp and sides, the rest of your hair will get the borax through it when you are rinsing it. It is kind, so use a couple of three times a week.

Hope this is helpful.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Just use regular olive oil- doesn't matter what brand- and but a bunch in your dry hair, then cover it with a shower cap or a warm towel- leave it in for as long as you like. Take a soak in the tub while doing this- it'll help with the cleanup and you get to relax. After wards just rinse it out with a gentle shampoo (baby shampoos work the best) and use a good conditioner.

Or you can just put your conditioner on your dry hair instead of olive oil and do the same thing. Others swear by mayonnaise- and it does work to an extent- if you want to use that then get the one with the most fat in it that you can find- it's better for your hair than the low-fat kinds. Use the treatment you choose once a week or so.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Put a good conditoner on your hair after you shampoo. Wrap cooking foil around you hair and put a towel on top of that. Leave on for a couple of hours, then just shampoo as normal. Don't use heated oils, as they will dry your hair even more.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

wash your hair as normal then use a deep conditioning treatment . put this on your hair and leave for 5 or 10 minutes it'l re-nourish your hair and make it so soft.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Try olive oil. I rub olive oil onto my damp hair and leave it on for a while - the longer, the better - before shampooing.

Olive oil has been used as a moisturizer for centuries...it is even mentioned in the Bible as something to put on the skin and hair to protect from the drying Middle Eastern weather.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

A deep moisturising session at the beauty shop is so relaxing and a little pricey too, but, your hair will love it.

Can't afford the royal treatment and who can?

I use baby oil (same results with olive oil, but, baby oil smells better) every two weeks. Apply to your scalp. Dry hair means a dry scalp. Massage it in, work it for seven to ten minutes, pull hair back and/or pin up and cover with a plastic cap or bag. Let set for any length of time at least one hour. Remove plastic cap and comb through starting at the forehead and sides of the head.

This will scrape and condition your scalp and hair.

BE SURE TO APPLY PLENTY OF SHAMPOO AND WORK IT THROUGH HAIR BEFORE GETTING IT WET.

Your hair will love this treatment, after this brush your hair 100 strokes every night to bring the natural oils from the scalp to the tips of your hair. Invest in a good brush.

This is great if you can do it with a sister or girlfriend to help especially if you have very long hair.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

RAW EGGS!!!! Honestly they really work. mix 1 egg up in a jug and apply to wet hair or dry hair, leave on for 2 Min's and rinse off. Makes hair so soft, do it regularly once a week. It works on mine, my hairdresser gave me this tip.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Rub a little olive oil in BEFORE washing. When you put face cream on gently massage what's left on your hands into your hair.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

pantene pro v conditioner in the tub if you can get it. It is great!!! I have had the same problem, been using this conditior for a couple of weeks and the turn around and success has been shocking. My hair is in great condition and very silky I love it....

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

I use Superdrug's pure coconut oil its absolutely fantastic for dry hair, normally I apply it to dry hair (beware its very greasy) leave it on for as long as you can then shampoo out, it really does make a different to your hair and its only 99p, you have to melt the oil I leave it in the sink for about 5 minutes.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Honey and oil mask 2 tbsp honey 1/3 cup olive oil Beat honey into oil in a small bowl. Apply to hair, concentrating on ends. Wrap hair in a hot towel for 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water (you'll have to rinse well, as the mixture will be sticky!). I tried this and it was a bit sticky but you just need to thoroughly rinse your hair. Leaves your hair incredibly shiny and has no chemicals!

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

It is so dry because of the highlights hunny, they dry your hair (iv been there too) want the best trick? it is a chemical, but AVEDA damage control spray is brilliant, it softens your hair up like that. Or cold water after a shower locks in shine. Let it grow back to its natural colour, leave off the highlights.

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

Hot oil treatment ,you can get capsules from boots chemist

What is the best natural way to treat dry hair? (no chemicals!)?

use a normal conditioner leave it for a few minutes with a plastic bag over it then use your hairdryer to apply some heat for 5 minutes then rinse, the heat helps the conditioner penetrate the hair (I'm a hairdresser)
