Does it itch when your hair grows back after chemo?

I'm almost done with my major chemo treatments and was wondering if it itches when your hair starts growing back?

Does it itch when your hair grows back after chemo?

Mine didn't. The earliest growth was soft and baby like, not at all like hair growing back after it's been shaved. Other people that I know who've had chemo also had this soft silky growth when it first started growing back. I've never heard anyone say theirs itched.

Congratulations on being almost finished with chemo!

nurse who worked in Oncology at one time, along time ago

and do recall someone telling me that, but don't think it is

common for that to happen

everyone is different

and also a lot of ppl told me that their hair grew back different than before the lost it.

like one had curly hair and grew back straight and another had

straight hair and grew back wavy and thick

good luck and hope it grows back fast and pretty for you

and congrats on almost being done with chemo

Wait till it starts to grow back...Mine itches (I think it is the dry weather and heating)...Also mine is like a bleached out blonde real light and downy...Original hair was black and straight...

Hope yours comes in real nice

Congratulations on the finish the chemo!

I've lost mine 3 times......it didn't itch when it grew back any of the times....however, when I would wear a wig (just in my office at work) and it started growing back in, it would itch some then. It's started out curly each time, but only this last time did it remain curly....it's been about a year since it grew back in and it's pretty long now and I'm not cutting it until the curl has completely gone.....figured I've earned every one of the curls and they are going to stay there for awhile!

Congrats on getting thru chemo and I hope all goes well!!!!!
