I am sorry about this, but I am very new to the entire dog community. This is my first ever dog that I have had in my own home and I didn't know that you had to part the hair when you put advantage on the dog. Will this make a huge difference in the flea treatment process? Please be serious with your responces because I love my dog with all my life, but I feel like I just messed up badly.

Its not the end of the world, how much of a problem it is depends on the kind of fur your dog has and how long it is. Advantage isn't a treatment its a prevention, if your dog has fleas you need something else, if your dog doesn't have fleas the advantage might still prevent them but not as well or for as long, take your dog to your vet and ask them for advise they should know what to do

As long as it got down to the skin, it should be fine.

It will seep down through the coat. You are okay. I have used Frontline and Advantage. They both work well. Don't worry about not parting the hair...you did fine.

it is important to get it on the skin. if it is only on the hair, it will not work very well. it is also best to put it on the back of the head b/c they can't reach there. if it is lick off, it will make the dog very ill. hope this helps:)
