You need to strengthen the hair as well as condition it. If you have bleached it, I would put a filler on it. A filler is just that. It fills in the hair shaft and gives it some strength. You can get it in clear or a color. If it is just over colored or straightened, I would use mayonaise on it. It sounds awful but after 3 treatments your hair will have gotten all the protein and oils it needs to start looking soft and shiny again. You put about a tablespoon on a wet head, rub into the hair well, cover with a shower cap or saran wrap and then a towel to hold in the heat. Leave on for at least an hour. If you can stand it, leave on overnight. You have to shampoo twice and condition too. Wait a few days and do it again. You won't see any real results until the third time. It just takes time to absorb and to layer into the hair shaft.

What you have done is stretched out your hair so that the elasticity is gone and it snaps instead of having some give or you have dried it out and broken the bonds in the hair.

Hair extentions might be a good way to go. They are expensive but in the 4 months it takes for them to come out, your bangs should be a decent length.

Good luck.

Go to a professional stylist for help..you wouldn't want to end up further damaging it.

Nothing is going to mend damaged hair. The only thing that can help is cutting off the damaged hair and then letting it grow out naturally without using blow dryers or hot curlers or hot presses.
