If you are comfortable with it, just shave it off so you are not day by day losing the hair and feeling emotional pain each day it happens. You are in my thoughts!

this chick that hosts a local cable show underwent chemo for breast cancer (she was young...early 30's I think, if that). She did a documentary for local PBS showing, as she went to her first appt, etc. and she was thinking she'd keep her hair "as long as possible". Well, it wasnt possible, so she shaved it off (on camera) and was fitted for a wig that very same instant--the wig looked like her own hair and nobody really could tell (other than us who watched the documentary)

So I say shave it. Go for it. Go bald, be proud. Get a wig or just a bunch of cool hats.

PS--her hair is growing back, but she still wears the wig on camera as it's not quite there yet.

Not all forms of chemo make your hair fall out. If it starts thinning, or falling out in clumps, then go for the shave, or a stunning hat or turban.

both of my aunts had chemo and they both shaved it off, it's too painful to let it go a little at a time, best of luck to you and god bless

My friend let hers fall out, then shaved it when it got kind of "patchy." BTW, she's doing well now, done with chemo and radiation. Her hair's growing back. Peace and blessings to you.

I would shave it off. I have been in the same boat. Twice. The first time I let it all fall out. The second I shaved it. I found shaving it easier as it got it over with. I wore baseball caps and doo rags. Best of Luck! Don't give up the fight!!

my lil u had to have cemo i think u should shave it off cuz it would make a mess in ur bed when ur sleeping

I don't know but my aunt is on to her fourth treatment and her hair has just thinned out a bit so it might depend. Wait and see how you go, perhaps, 'cos everyone sems to be different.

Go for it and shave it off yourself. My best friend is going through chemo therapy, (and BTW I am so sorry to hear that, you will get better!!!!) and she said, I would much rather have control over that.....I am not "giving" cancer ANYTHING"!!!!

And she looks fabulous!!!! Very exotic. I never knew how beautiful and graceful her features are.

Shave it, then it won't be so tramatizing to see your hair fall out slowly. Thats what my neighbor did and now shes done chemo and her hair is growing back perfectly into cute curls =) Good luck

it depends on if it falls off in patches or not. If it does fall off in patches then it only make sense to cut it. If you are going to wear a wig during the process then if doesn't really matter.

My mom cut her's short and wore a wig. Her hair did get thin but since it was short it didn't look that bad. When it's long and thinning then it look like you need Rogaine or are going through a crisis. Yes this will be a change for you but Wigs can be fun. I wear wiga all the time and I have bra length hair. It's your choice but try on some wigs to see if you like it, they can be fun. Right now I am wearing what I call my holiday har, lol. It's a curly wig, lol.

So see how your hair reacts to the chemo first and then decide. Good Luck, One Love.

I am very sorry that you have to undergo treatment like that. I think that shaving it might be in your best interest. It wouldnt be gradual, you would get it all over with at once. Then you can go buy some funky cool wigs if you'd like.
