What is a good shampoo & conditioner for REALLY dry hair?

I have my hair highlighted or the roots touched up about every 5-6 weeks. My hair is really dry and I wear some layers in it that look dry and kind of frizzy even when I use the straightening iron on it. Any shampoo/conditioner, or any other treatment suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I have been using Redken Extreme products that haven't helped much.

The best treatment for very dry hair is a shampoo and conditioner that HYDRATES . Any good to pricey brand should do the trick ... and stay away from hair dryers ... that defetes the purpose.

Use Dove Extra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner..its awesome

I have highlights too and I would totally recommend the Matrix line. You can get it at any nicer kind of salon. It's really amazing how it moisturizes your hair so good. The price isn't so bad either but if your looking to get something on the lower end of the $$ then I would reccommend Pantene Pro V for Dry hair. Then sometimes you can leave the conditioner in your hair and don't even rinse it out because it will leave your hair really nice and soft.

I have thick curly hair and I absaloutley love Bedheads Moisture Maniac shampoo and conditioner. It really leaves my hair feeling soft and less frizzy too. Its a little pricey but worth the money.

There are a lot of those in the market. I think you can find some decent ones in the drugstores as well. Garnier Fructis and SunSilk are great.

I love this shampoo and it helps me to regain healthy hair, but it's a bit pricey, it's from the brand called L'occitane (French Brand), details information is here: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio...

Still, I couldn't find a really good conditioner, but I recommend adding a deep hair treatment to your hair once per week, it helps a lot!

How should I chemically straighten my hair?

I was thinking of getting japanese straightening, but it's way too expensive. I've heard brazilian keratin treatment works well, but it's only semi-permanent. Is there an old fashioned relaxer that can be used to permanently straighten non-african hair. Someone said what I need is a perm, not a relaxer. What's the difference? I thought perms are only used for curling hair. Basically, what I'm looking for is inexpensive permanent or semi-permanent chemical straightening, and I definitely don't want to do it at home.

How should I chemically straighten my hair?

I would go to a black hair salon and have them do it. They work on all types of hair and have white clients.

Essential rosemary oil treatment for hair?

can anyone tell me how to use pure essential rosemary oil as a hair and scalp treatment for dry, lifleless hair?

serious replies only please

Essential rosemary oil treatment for hair?

1. Shampoo your hair and dry.

2. Massage the oil into your scalp first for about 15 min and then to the entire hair for another 15 min. The longer you massage the better.

3. Cover with a plastic cap.

4. Ideally, it would be best to sit under the hot dryer now for about half an hour; but because most likely you don't have it, just leave it like this for about an hour. The length of time really depends on how damaged your hair is.

5. Shampoo again, apply conditioner, and let it dry.

Can be repeated once a day or at least once a week depending on the damage.

I do not know how good the rosemary oil works, but the described procedure is normally used with all oil treatments.

I would say Nexxus conditioners and scalp treatments will definitely work. Can be bought in salons. They are expensive, but probably will be more effective in the long run, than rosemary oil treatments. Try the oil first, and then let a stylist to pick the right shampoo/ treatment for you.

I jus had a haircut but split ends are still present not at the end but in between n can my hair gro

my hair are upto the chin n i want to grow without trimming them would they grow b'coz i jus had a haircut 20 days ago?any natural treatment to avoid split ends?plz help

I jus had a haircut but split ends are still present not at the end but in between n can my hair grow ?

To remove Split ends -

Take small sections of hair and carefully. twist them in a gentle downward motion.

Any split ends will automatically stick out.

Carefully snip into the twist with sharp scissors.

Be careful to cut roughly the same amount from each twist.

Preventing Split ends -

1) It's best to use a wide tooth comb if your hair is vulnerable to splitting.

2) Use shampoos and conditioners containing hair thickeners.

3) Squeeze the water from the hair with an absorbent towel. Rubbing the hair can cause wear to the cuticle.

4) If you're using hair color take caution with chemicals. They can make your hair weak and cause split ends.

5) Get a trim every six weeks.

~hope this helps~

Conditioners stop split ends from happening. I love Suave.

avoid heat and chemicals. split ends look like ****, but they will grow, reguardless of what people say, just slower as they break off, a natural haircut. you can do mayo, egg or oil treatments to stop more from splitting but only cutting them will "fix" them. up your protein intake, it helps to grow stronger, healthyer, shinyer hair. Aside from that, routine trims and lots of conditioners. Only color your roots of its colored and no perms, chemical strightening or relaxing.

I have pooofy hair...?

I have straight hair but it's dry, medium-thick (indivisual strands) and I have lots of it. I got it thinned, layered and everything many times but it's gotten worse. When my hair is wet, it's nice but then as it dries, the layers start to lift away from my longer hair, so it's like in a (

(

shape. Even after treatments and blow-drying with a round brush and some serums or creams, in an hour, it's all flippy and thick and poofy, like a triangle. 閳?Does anyone have ideas?

How to depoof Poofy hair %26amp; how to style Poofy hair

http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-42eT_e8_b...

I have pooofy hair...?

Go out and buy Sunsilk Anti Poof 24/7 creme $2.99 on sale. And the Purple Straitener 24/7 creme. Mix tspn each together put in hair, air dry! Voila! Also buy a wide tooth comb.

I have pooofy hair...?

use a nice mosturising shampoo and conditioner, then blow dry without adding serum or any other hair product which is oily. Finish with a nice spray like elnette from loreal.

I have pooofy hair...?

I suggest using ThermaSilk detangler spray on your hair before doing any sort of heat styling. Also, try using a paddle brush when blow drying, and getting a hair dryer with a diffuser to tone down the frizz. I've also found that John Frieda de-frizz products work very well.

I know how hard it is to try and tame out-of-control hair, and I guess it just comes down to testing out different products to see what works best for your specific hair type.

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

hot or cold

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

I have been waxing for years growing up in SoBe Florida, both for bikini, legs, underarms. I barely have any hair on my upper thighs from waxing and I go up to 4 months without having to get my lower legs wax. I get a full bikini too that can take up to 3 months for hair to grow. The key to waxing is once you start never ever use a razor again no matter how tempted you become or the emergency date you have coming up and no time to see your waxing specialist, because waxing caused hair in certain areas to go dormant.

that's why it seems like waxing definitely makes the hair thinner and stops hair from growing after continued use in some areas, because the hair kinda gets tired of being pulled out with the wax and stops growing for a while. That's why the hair seems thinner. Waxing is cheap and economical in the long run. I am now saving up for the laser removal. My best friend who is Brazilian and introduced me to waxing years ago when we were in high school, started the treatments and it works for her. It is more expensive but think no hair again ever guaranteed! Hope this helped.

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

hot

and bleaching works better

i think u have to be young and growing to have it be really thinner

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

wax is tough, your hair will grow back and normally ingrown hairs come from waxing. Use a lotion hair remover, I love the sally hansen Spa Hair Remover, it doesn't smell, it really works, and it doens't irritate the skin. But always exfoliate with a scrub before you do anything.

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

Hot is much better.....And it really depends how thick and how dark the hair is....You should be waxing for a year to see a difference and that means no razors in between AT ALL.....Cause you'll go back to zero if you do use them.....

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

if it's done right, it should only take one (sometimes two)

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

It only took me once. LOL!!!

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

hi

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

I have been waxing clients for about 30 years

Be careful, it could be the first time and then again your hair may take many years

and it may never thin out noticeably at all.

The reason wax thins hair is, the bulb in the hair follicle is damaged and will not grow back. That's why it is important to do it right all the time. Once the bulb is damaged, it will never grow back

About how many wax treatments does it take to make hair noticebly thinner?

Wax doesn't really make hair thinner. Laser does. Nair, maybe...

I need hair tips, Can you help?

Does anyone know a web site or anything that could show me how to make my hair look healthy and shiny and styled it so that i'm actually in style and what product i should use?

try dying it a dark color. It hides all the burned parts, and makes your hair appear way healthier.

There is a product line call SLEEK LOOK I use it on my hair and it helps alot. It comes in different steps to help straighten it and you will need a straightner too. I works good though. And NIOXEN shampoo and conditioner is really good.
